Essential reading for cultural transformation
Brilliant and richly researched, this book is essential for understanding Nature’s pattern of instinctive mothering practices and companion care for raising healthy, empathic children with examples from Indigenous cultures and our Animal kin. Dr. Mayberry

essential reminder for being human
I loved how relatable this book is in connecting us to our non-human Kin through empathy building stories of the Wolves, Octopus, and more. At the same time, the authors dive deep into the neuroscience and ecology behind that which makes us who we are and who we can be as humans returning to, remembering, thriving, interdependent life.

The Great Remembering
Human's didn't invent the written word until we had been agriculturalists for many thousands of years. By that time, we had forgotten so much about what kind of a species ours is. We just assumed that we had always been farmers who lived in crowded spaces, with diseases, hierarchy, and rulers. We even forgot how to grow and nurture our own babies. The Evolved Nest illuminates this lost human history. It's recommended to read this book if you plan to have children. It's also recommended to read this book if you don't plan to or if you already have.

The book I wish I had as a new mama!
Evolved Nest is my new favorite book and the one I wish I had when I was a new mama… Highly recommend for EVERYONE because there are so many beautiful lessons for all of us shared through stories of science and indigenous ways of knowing. This book is a precious gift at a time when we need it most.

A framework with which to build a more sustainable and well future
Though there are many books that identify issues and why modern humans are unwell, there are far fewer books that highlight the meaning and essential qualities of social wellbeing. The Evolved Nest gives us examples and a framework with which to build a more sustainable and well future. Researchers, healers, therapists, educators, community members and parents can all benefit from better understanding the foundational practices illustrated in this book.
