UMount SAF100 VESA Wall Mount Adapter Kit for Sony Televisions W6/W7/W8 TV Models

First of all just to clarify, this is just a bunch of nuts and bolts like it states in the image. I read a review before buying this, regarding the same purchase by someone else and they got upset because they expected to get a wall bracket with it.Although it's just nuts and bolts, it is actually useful for Sony tv. I have a Sony bravia KDL32W654 TV. Now the cantilever bracket I brought for my TV didn't fit in the screw slots on the back of my TV because of its shape. (My TV has a bulky area at the bottom and is thin at the top) A 30mm bolt isn't long enough to go into the top screw slots, which is where the bolt extension comes in very handy.Overall I'm happy with the purchase. The pack also comes with extra nuts, bolts and washers which can be used to replace worn out ones or for other things. It also comes with instructions on how to apply it to your Sony TV.If you have a modern Sony TV then it's likely you may need a set of these. If you have a DIY shop near by then you could probably get it for cheaper so try there first.

It did the job but a little costly for a few bolt extenders and screws

Bought these so that I could wall-mount a Sony KDL32W705B using a VESA mount rather than the supplied one which uses the TV base stand. This particular Sony model doesn't have a standard VESA mounting facility as the back isn't flat (the internal workings are all protruding lower down)... so you need this kit to extend the top rear of the TV to the extent of the lower rear. This adaptor kit works just fine, feels solid enough and I was able to mount it using a VESA-compatible Sanus tilting mount.It's worth noting with regards to the KDL32W705B that the length of this kit's hex-shaped extending pin's thread (the part that screws into the top rear of the TV) is longer than will actually fully screw in, so you'll see around 4mm of thread once it hits the stop. Don't force it or you'll risk damaging the screen. There's enough of it screwed in to hold the TV securely.

Why Sony decided to abandon the VESA fitment to the rear of their TVs is an inconvenience and, no doubt a painful surprise to many upon getting their new TV home and wanting to wall mount it where the old one stood.Oh but wait! They also sell their own VESA adaptor, the SUW-A1 at the princely sum of around 50 notes but (it gets better!), this is the adaptor only and does not come with bolts!I faced this same scenario when upgrading my KDL-32V4000 to a KDL-32W654A.This bolt kit represents excellent value and is a breeze to set up - I had everything set up within 10 minutes of opening the packet.It obviously works around the uneven rear by having extended threads that will then offer a level surface for mounting your existing VESA arms to.Brilliant, sturdy, and inexpensive.

When we tried to use this to mount a KDL42W829B we came across the problem that the screw holes in the TV are 29.4cm apart rather than 30cm and our mount didn't have enough flexibility in terms of hole size to accommodate this without putting unacceptable pressure on the screws and screw holes in the TV. Judging by all the positive reviews I assume that it does work fine with most TV mounts but you should check that yours has sufficient flexibility in terms of the sizes of the holes.

I was mislead to believe that this would allow my Sony Bravia KDL-50W829B (2014) to be attached to a run-of-the-mill VESA mount. I was mistaken.Unfortunately, despite the fact that the screws provided do fit the TV, because of the measurements between the screw positions, you end up with 295mm x 300mm which means that a standard VESA mount will not work. Even though the notes include that a fixed VESA plate will not work, I bought a 'universal mount' (which is a ridiculous notion and I wish the people who sell this stuff would stop referring to this magic system as a 'universal mount') which was essentially railings with multiple holes for the screws to go into. Even with this, because of the position of the screws, I was still unable to use them.

Brilliant, saved me a fortune as the official Sony one is around £30. Took 5 minutes to fit and put up. Yes its a bit pricey for some bolts but compare it to what you would pay for the official one and its a no brainer

No need for fancy adapter brackets or anything of that ilk, these few nuts and bolts (which, after looking round a few hardware stores I discovered I could not obtain anywhere here in New Zealand) did the job nicely. Unfortunately the seller does not ship directly to my country of residence, so instead I had them ship to my parents' address within the UK and they then sent the package onto me. For the sake of a few extra pounds it was certainly worth it. Although for the life of me, I still have no idea why a major respected brand like Sony should have its wall mounting system set up differently to every other major brand in the first place.
