Q: Can this be used to hold two rings together?

Yes, I currently use them to hold both of my rings together.

Q: I have several silver ring splints in a figure 8 shape that i have to wear for eds. b/c it's cooler now they're too loose. will this help?

I like them, mainly because there are multiple choices in the packaging. I've no allergic reaction & the clear silicone isn't very noticeable. Since you can choose which thickness & how much adjusting you need, I just save the pieces I tried for possible reuse later. I started off w/ the smallest coil & had no spinning (I have small hands & my rings had fairly wide bands), but as you say, now that it's cooler, I may move up to a thicker one. It's still tight enough that I can't easily remove the ring, so I may wait a bit & see. The coils can be removed for cleaning & retain their memory. A plus: the coils are handy for sock or lace knitters to clasp 2 small needles together!

Q: Can I use 1 guard on 2 rings?

The cord is a constant rope of curly plastic. U can wind as little or as much around the base of ur ring and go as far a long as u like. I will love then

Q: Will this fit an 8mm mens wedding band?

This comes with many different sizes so I think it would work for just about anything
