Digital Multimeter TRMS/Low Impedance, Auto-Ranging 1000V Klein Tools MM700, Black/Orange

Nowhere near the price of a ‘decent’ multimeter, but properly good tool. I can’t justify the cost of a fluke, but need something proper, and this is perfect. Spent many many years with maplin multimeters, which were great, this fits that bill, solid, reliable, accurate but not an arm and a leg.

Went for this make because of quality and price, as good as Fluke and Klein probably been around longer. Good quality it's just a shame the magnetic strap is not available single. Tried to order one and min order is 2. So it works out very expensive just for a strap, could by from usa but postage costing £25 makes it a joke. I want a strap but not on these terms, I can manage without.

A Fluke it is not but it is a great quality multimeter which is well specified and extremely robust at just the right price point. It comes with a useful case and well made accessories especially the probes. Our was shipped very quickly from the US.

Resistance and voltage checks on computer components odd capacitor check as well.

Very easy to use. Will buy it again

Has anyone tested the Thermometer function, I found my temperature readings are way out?

I have been using it regularly for school and work for almost a year now. It's been excellent so far. I've never dropped it so I can't speak to the durability, but it's really well made and comfortable to use.

As advertised, this is very rugged, high build quality.On the negative side, LCD contrast is marginal, only good when read 45deg down from the face. Dim when viewed from any other angle.

I bought this to replace a “yellow and black” brand 115 model that I think someone liked more than I did. I priced out what it would cost to replace that meter and the branded case and it was at least double and this meter can do more. For what I need a DMM for in my trade - low voltage security and fire alarm, this was still more than I needed and half the price and definitely worth it. It has every feature and then some, and even included the case. The display is beautiful, backlit, and easy to read. The continuity beeper has very quick response to a short - something that a lot of inexpensive meters fall short on. The only thing I thought was odd is it used two AAA batteries instead of a 9 volt battery but it hasn’t made a difference yet. The only thing that takes some getting used to is the voltage function. There is just one switch position for voltage, not seperate AC and DC. Once you switch to volts, it goes to AC and you have to then hit the button to select DC. An extra step, and 99.5% of my voltage measurements are DC. I do wish it came with longer leads but that’s not a major issue, maybe I can find something. Do yourself a favor and get the magnetic strap too. You don’t know how much you need it until you have it. Overall a great function-packed meter for an affordable price. I do believe Klein still cares about their products and reputation, so I don’t think they’d put their name on an inferior meter. If you’re a tech like me, measuring basic voltage and resistance, you don’t need the black and yellow brand, no matter what anyone tells you. It’s more of a status symbol than anything. Opt for this, you’ll be all set.
