This set of A-Z alphabet letter miniatures will help you in creating a Montessori style alphabet starting sounds activity. There is a full set of both uppercase and lowercase letters included for a total of 52 letters. Each 1/8" thick letter is cut from solid alder hardwoods. The uppercase letters are about an inch tall and the lowercase letters come in between 2/3 and 5/6 of an inch tall depending on the letter. Each board of North American wood is verified sustainably sourced. The miniature letters are perfectly sized to be inserted onto alphabet trays, alphabet sorting activities or be used in Montessori alphabet games. This set of alphabet letters is packaged in a sturdy chipboard box. Combine this version with our starting sounds sets for additional sorting activity fun. I have two separate sets to create fun activities to incorporate into your Montessori trays or as a take-along activity. Use the set for activities such as Letter recognition or add additional sets to have enough letters to build word sets. Materials Available: All of my letters are cut from verified sustainable hardwood thinstock- no particle board or pressboard. You now have the option of three materials: Alder: A red-brown hardwood (shown in listing photos) finished with a toy-safe clear coat. Maple; Varying from ash to honey colored, my maple is finished with a toy-safe acrylic clear coat. Raw Maple: For my purists or those who want to paint, customize, or use in a craft- my raw maple is sanded buttery-smooth but left without a finish.
