David Lynch: The Art Life [DVD]

Saw the beginnings of lot of Lynches inspiration and learned a lot about his life that I did not know. I really enjoyed it and say its worth a watch for any fan.

Really enjoyed this documentary. As a big fan of Lynch's films I've watched and read just about all there is on the subject; which is why i love this film because it focuses solely on his work as a gifted painter. Yes, the film does dabble with Lynch's early experiments with film, but only the early experimental shorts (and a little on the making of Eraserhead); but don't expect anything post-Eraserhead.It was great to see Lynch at home just making art and sharing stories of his childhood, his student days and how he became a filmmaker.

Loved the film as I'm a David Lynch fan anyway but was disappointed to find out there is a blu ray version of the film which wasn't shown as an option on Amazon? It was until after I'd watched the film I decided to see if there was David Lynch artworks for sale on EBay that the blu Ray version popped up! Very disappointed in Amazon for this.

A wonderful insight into the early life and mind of one of cinema's most original and challenging directors. Anyone interested in this auteur has to see it. It would have 5 stars if it covered more of his life, but maybe that's been done elsewhere. Whatever, watch!
