VERY IMPRESSED SO FAR
Had this item a few days now and can honestly say its worth the money:Pros:1.It does exactly as it states in the adverts/shopping channel.2.The bags supplied are amazing and strong. They come on a roll so you can make them as large as you want...just seal one end...unroll and then cut where you want.... then you can seal (or vacuum seal) the other end.3.Many rice/Pasta bags can be vacuum sealed by this machine... I also found that its a great way to vacuum seal biscuits in their original packaging to avoid them going soft (if you can resist eating a whole packet of biscuits).4.I re-sealed all my opened bags that were in the freezer... they wouldn't vacuum seal, but did seal without the vacuum.5. Great for sealing things that you want to "boil in the bag" i.e. fish filletsCons:1. As i said above, certain bags couldn't be vacuum sealed, but thats not the fault of the machine but the bag quality.2. anything with a liquid in it CANNOT be vacuum sealed..... just done try, it goes everywhere!!! as it sucks the air out, the liquid rises and spills.... just seal it with as little air as possible in it3. fragile foods (ie strawberry/blackberries) cannot be vacuum sealed. Instead put them in a small takeaway container (without the lid before you put in the bag, this well protect them from being squashed.4. The cost of the bag rolls seem to be a bit overpriced. Yes they can be re-used, but you have to cut them open, so they get smaller each time you reseal/reopen them.

Great addition to the kitchen
A great addition to the kitchen. Have to be careful about sealing some things - vacuum sealed a steak fantastically, but need to allow the steak to breathe once unsealed again. Vacuum sealed an open packet of ham and couldn't separate the slices when opened again. Vacuum sealed a loaf of bread and it crushed the loaf and once opened again it failed to expand. If used with a dose of common sense you can vacuum seal items just to the right extent and then press cancel and then seal only. The seal only is also very useful for sealing standard plastic packaging - sealing cereal packets, biscuit packets, plastic crisp bags etc.It takes up little space on the counter, although the vacuum noise is quite loud, so you wouldn't want to use it at night as you'd probably wake people. The bags come in a reel and I ordered some spare ones at the same time as the food sealer, which I think was a good move.I have half an onion vacuum sealed in my fridge that I can't smell every time I open the door. It will stay that way until I want to use it.

GOOD IF YOU SEAL A FEW BAGS AT A TIME, BUT NOT IF YOU WORK ON AN INDUSTRIAL SCALE
The food sealer worked fine, but it wasn't quick enough to do the number of bags I needed. Using it is a little too convoluted, it has to be locked down each time and then the catches need to be released. While there is nothing fundamentally wrong with it I found it was not good at sealing the bags I use and so there would have been the extra costs of having to buy suitable bags. The vacuum was a little bit and miss at times but I think that was my technique. If you are doing a few bags at a time this is probably ok for you, I do 200 at a time and it was just too slow,In the end I purchased a simple bag sealer instead and I don't really need the vacuum aspect of this productIf you are only sealing a few bags at a time then this might suit you

Works fine for me
Very easy to use, comes with bags of both size so can be used out of the box. I like the way it even has a cable tidy in the base so you can just pull out as much cable as needed.I went to town, firstly fresh trout (which is what I really bought it for) the narrow bags are perfect, cut to length and sealed perfectly, date written on and into the freezer. I have also used it to seal bread, as a single person I usually end up throwing a lot of bread away, hopefully this will stop that waste.I did a test on two bagels, sucking out all the air until they were as flat as polo's. Waited an hour then unsealed them. To my surprise the bagels popped back to their original size and shape within 10 minutes.

Excellent and Useful
I do not know what I did without this before I purchased it. Such a useful product. Great for saving leftovers. I now buy a huge block of cheese, at half the normal price, then cut it in to useful sizes, then I cut the rest up and save it in vacuum packed portions. I also vacuum pack so many other things, especially great for freezing. I have vacuum packed the remaining peanuts and half of the Christmas Cake from Christmas. I know they will keep for much longer this way and we can eat them over the next few months instead of all at once. This will also heat seal shop bought products i.e. Ground Almonds come in bags that can be re-sealed by this so you can use half and know that the remaining half will retain freshness. Highly recommend this product and highly recommend the seller.

super
