BUKU

I enjoyed this book very much. The characters and action were extremely well done and the story is VERY unique. I enjoy future science fiction type books and this one hit all the marks. It's about how mankind's best intentions can often backfire and cause terrible consequences. It is set in the real world and the people have to survive an absolute nightmare. It is a real world that feels like it could happen some day. I also like the way the characters found ways to either trust or distrust each other without knowing the outcome. The power and politics and faith that happen even in the worst times of basic survival are an awesome part of the story. I recommend this for anyone looking for a great action and survival and personal strength story.

I don't like to give 5 star reviews (I hold out for perfection) but I really enjoyed Buku. I've been trying to support Indie authors and have come across some real disasters. Curiosity got the best of me (mutated hippos didn't appeal to me but I love creature/horror/thriller fiction) so I gave it a shot. I had a hard time putting it down and finished it quickly. The story, characters, and post-apocalyptic world were well created. I signed up on the author's website and enjoyed a free side story about one of the characters in Buku. Much to my surprise, a sequel was released on the first and I received the paperback today. Great job! Keep writing!

Brilliant concept that may seem like futuristic fiction BUT weaves real life trends that could literally come to life as humans contemplate unintended consequences of "scientific breakthroughs" and the ways in which man attempts to "man"age nature. Completely entertaining, yet a glimpse of what may lie ahead if our human arrogance goes unchecked. The array of characters are a study in psychology and spirituality. For sheer entertainment value, it's also five star! The kiddies would love it as a scary movie...and just think of the merch possibilities! Bravo to Jennifer Anderson on her amazing first book!

This is one hell of a book. It's a gripping tale of man's greed-induced self-destruction by a mutated animal created to be the solution to numerous problems, including energy.Although it's sci-fi, a very scary thought is that it could just as easily be the real thing. After all, humanity is greed-driven and with that in mind this saga isn't all that far-fetched.The characters are believable, the plot is gripping, the descriptives more than ample to shift your 'theater of the mind' into high gear. You will not regret buying and reading Buku.

I was so impressed with this book, a first for the author. As I got deeper into the book, I found myself not wanting to put it down! The clever weaving of plot and insightful character development reeled me in. The ever present danger kept me wondering what would happen next. The introduction of numerous characters into the story did not confuse me but instead helped to bring Iris' world to life for me as a reader. As I read, I was thinking what a great movie this would be! Hollywood needs to grab this one!
