Size
Smaller than I thought but well made. It mounts good to the outlet and has indication bars to know when it's life span is done. It was pricy but quality is at a cost.

Exactlywhat I needed
I purchased this product to protect a new large-screen TV. As a bonus, it also filters line noise so we get a better picture. And, even better, it plugs into a standard outlet and has multiple outlets. No cord.

Solid protection for the pricer electronics
I wanted to add a a nicer surge protector for my gaming console. I was using a power strip that offered some protection but since I recently added a gaming monitor, I decided to put this in. I like the packaging it came in and the unit looks cool. I also like the blue led indicators on the front that will let you know if it took a hit and how many more it can take before needing replacement. It comes with a lifetime warranty which is nice. This stays secured to the outlet with a screw that goes into the outlet covers screw hole keeping it from coming out. I definitely feel better about my equipment being plugged in to this. It also has a USB charging port as well. If you are looking to up the level of protection, I would recommend this!

Its just a power filter w/ surge protection (not a UPS).
Not sure why the other review is calling this a battery backed UPS, because it most certainly is not. This device provides surge protection, overcurrent protection, and primary EMI/RF power filtration. That's it.HOW TO USE IT:At its core, its a simple and easy to use device - just plug it into an outlet and then proceed to connect your devices to any of the various outlets that are located on the device. That's it. Its 100% passive and requires no further user input.ABOUT THE DEVICE:The device takes up two outlets (one plate once installed. There is a screw in the middle of the device which can be used to screw into the outlet plate itself, replacing the central screw used to attach the wall plate. This is optional. I found the device to sit securely without the need for the screw attachment, although your results may vary.On the device itself, there are two AC outlets on each side of the device. On the left side there's also a USB-A port, along with a USB-C port. The right side has the toggle switch to turn the device on or off.At the front you'll find three blue led lights. These lights indicate the remaining level of Joules left to provide surge protection. Over time, these lights will go out, one by one, at which point you need to replace the device as it no longer offers surge protection.DOES IT WORK?Hopefully I'll never have to find out. I have my Bowers & Wilkin Formation Wedge plugged into it and it sounds as good as it ever has. So I don't hear any difference, which is what I'm going for.But the power here is high, and fluctuates frequently. So this device offers me some piece of mind that my precious Wedge will be protected from the fluctuations.Austere boasts a pretty hard to believe guarantee, where they will assume responsibility for any damage to the devices you have plugged into the product for up to four years since purchase date, regardless of their value. I don't know how much I believe that, but if true, that's pretty awesome. Again, I really hope I never have to find out.BOTTOM LINE:Its a fancy surge protection with the bonus of offering basic EMI/RF power filtration. It looks cool, but it certainly costs a pretty penny. I guess that's what you pay for piece of mind...

Just works, USB has good charging capabilities, not sure about power filtering
I have been using this in my office for months for an under table power splitter and a charger. Just works as it should, since it is black it blends in with the legs of my table so its not too visible. I do wish the lights on the front were able to be turned off though. I have considered putting stickers over them. The lights are not bright but considering where the unit is mounted I see it every time I walk down my office (which is narrow but long).I tried out the "power filtering" with my audio equipment but I heard no differences. Maybe if I had really dirty power this might do something but overall I didn't have issues before so there is nothing to improve I suppose.Overall I am happy with it mostly because it is a surge protector also and I have my laptops plugged into this device. If it fails I will report back as it is in constant use

Nice surge protector
You know, to be honest, up until I got this thing and read the paperwork with it, I had no idea that surge protectors could go "bad". We have some around my house that we have been using from 1995, there's no way all of them are still in good service.I appreciate the design and durability, the size is also a space saver. I really don't know if it's worth the asking price, but it is nice.

Great design
I had ordered this for my wife’s workstation at home. I had been reworking it for her and decided that I would give her this little UPS under the desk. It has 4 plugs around this compact design, also with a usb and a usb-c connection, which I didn’t use. The design of this is pretty awesome, being compact and close to the wall. I was able to plug in her extension cord into the UPS so that it powered her entire workstation. I will say that I did notice that it helped to clean up and stabilize our incoming power and provide a nice surge protection, all under the guise of a battery backup. We have tested it a few times now and it works pretty well for its size. Compared to the giant UPS under my desk, this thing is a miniature that is not occupying floor space. I hope that this is helpful.

Well made product with good filtering
This is a nice product. It is better built than the low-priced competition, and has good built-in noise and surge filtering. The USB ports are low-powered, so don’t expect to get much use out of those. It is made from plastic, not metal, even though it looks very much like brushed aluminum. I don’t see that as a negative. Metal would just increase the weight. There is a hidden screw that can be used to hold it in place if your outlet has a center screw. Overall, a worthy alternative to the mass-produced version.
