I bought this necklace when I was 4 months pregnant. I had thought the gentle chime would be comforting for my baby.On first impression I thought the charm had a beautiful design, was a nice size and had a satisfying weight to it. The charm is completely spherical and the design is on both sides.It comes with 2 different chain lengths, one that means the charm rests in the centre of your bump and a shorter one that means the charm reaches your chest. The short chain can still be put on over the head without undoing the clasp.The main issue I found is that the chime that the necklace makes is so quiet. I barely noticed it when I was wearing it so I doubt that the sound could be heard by my baby. I also felt that natural daily body movement was not vigorous enough to make the bell actually ring in the first place. The long chain meant that the charm rested on the widest part of my bump and often got in the way and brushed against things. I quickly switched to the shorter chain which was much more convenient.I continued to wear this necklace throughout my pregnancy but never wore it for long after my son's birth as I felt the sound never offered him any comfort. Maybe it would have done had I persevered until he was a bit older but it was hard to remember to wear it daily during those early newborn weeks!Overall a very pretty and quality necklace but I personally would only buy it if you like the design and not if you are expecting a chime that your baby will be able to hear during pregnancy.
