A great additon for your Amazon Dot. It adds greatly improved volume and sound quality with complete portability of your Dot
This Bluetooth Speaker / Battery Pack arrived well packaged in a cardboard box.The Box contained 1x Bluetooth Speaker / Battery Pack, 1x Power bridge, 1x Instruction Booklet.I love my Amazon Echo dot's but one thing that does let them down is the inbuilt speaker. It's not very loud, but I always intended to use it in conjunction with a Bluetooth speaker. I like the echo that much that I was considering buying a third (I have two already) for using in the kitchen but then I started think about maybe finding a quick way to move one from room to room. I was using a small bluetooth speaker to move around with but you then lose the ability for the Dot to hear you.A quick search brought me to this device and I have to say it fulfils my needs perfectly. The Dot sits on top of this speaker and is held in place by a layer of adhesive. There's a supplied power bridge adapter that plugs into the Power socket of the Dot and the power input of the speaker. The Dot's Micro USB power cable then plugs into the Speaker. This pass through allows the battery to charge whilst always providing power to your dot. If you unplug the power cable the battery continues to power the dot. Without the power cable plugged in your Dot is now completely portable and will function perfectly as long as you stay in range of your Wireless Internet connection.Connecting to the Bluetooth speaker is very easy, as soon as you switch it on it's in pairing mode (The LED with be spinning) you just go to your Alexa App and add the speaker (It shows as EVO AMP). Once connected it will automatically connect each time your turn the Dot on.The volume of the speaker is much louder then the one built into the Dot. In fact no longer will I telling Alexa to set the volume to 10, as it's a bit too loud for my needs. The sound quality is also much better than the inbuilt speaker. I noticed that a couple of other reviews mention that they felt that the Dot became less responsive when connected to this. This is true but it isn't a fault, it's simply the the Dot can struggle to hear you over the increased volume of the speaker. If you keep the Dot near you this isn't a problem. My Dot now comes with me to the Kitchen, bathroom and even out into the garden. If you do plan on moving around a large area then you would need to consider how good your wireless network is. I use a pair of range extenders to allow a much larger range.

Good to begin with - but then it all went pear-shaped.
We bought this product as a friend had already bought it and recommended it as being excellent. And at first all was well, as it seemed to Amplify our Echo dot really well and we liked the portability or being able to take music anywhere in the house/garden.However, we soon noticed that Alexa could no longer hear anything we said.We had to be virtually hovering over the Echo dot while yelling "ALEXA!!" to get any response out of it - which got me way more annoyed than I thought it would. No-one likes to be ignored by a household appliance. Then we noticed that any added volume had disappeared and had actually got worse than when the Echo dot was amp free.It turned out that the EVO Amp'd had 'unpaired' itself from the Echo Dot and as it covers both the microphone and speaker, was now blocking all incoming and outgoing sound - which was why Alexa had suddenly gone deaf and quiet. We couldn't get it to reconnect, so just gave up.As soon as we disconnected the EVO Amp'd everything returned to normal.Alexa is no longer ignoring us like a stroppy teenager. We have normal volume and on the whole everything is working well. We don't have the portability of being able to take it into the garden but we do have an extension cable - which works. After speaking to my friend who made the initial recommendation - they said their EVO Amp'd had done exactly the same thing, so they just disconnected it too.I'd not recommend the EVO Amp'd - even though it did work well to begin with. Perhaps it needs a bit more development to troubleshoot some of the issues.

Hard to wake up Amazon Dot....
The fact that it's a battery unit and speaker definitely improves the dot to enable it to be moved around and sound better. However, as others have said, it makes it more difficult to wake up. I bought a remote for my echo and think it's a rip off that I have now had to buy a second remote to wake up the dot as one remote will not work both. Not Fremo's entire problem but certainly one Amazon should addess.

Fine whilst it worked
Arrived quickly and was easy to set up. However, within six weeks, it simply stopped working - it would not let the Amazon Echo Dot connect to wi-fi and the unit became unusable. Maybe just the one I had but I couldn't replace it as Amazon / the reseller had removed it from availability at the beginning of March so I had to return it for a refund. Purchased another make of Echo Dot speaker which was more expensive but, frankly, better.

Was good, but the echo software has overtaken this Fremo EVO hardware
I am sure this was great, before Amazon launched grouped Echo synced speaker playback (multi-room). Since they have done so, this will become your default listen method if you have more than one Echo. Unfortunately you can't have an Echo dot outputting to a paired Bluetooth speaker (such as the Fremo EVO Amp'd) AND working in a group of other Echos at the same time. If you attempt to do so, the Echo dot will automatically drop the paired BT speaker :/ (in this case your Fremo EVO).Would be a neat product, but it has been overtaken by events. Not sure if I can still return mine, but I have had to now buy a different battery base speaker... One that connects to the Echo Dot aux input, and doesn't rely on Bluetooth.

Good but makes Alex deaf
I bought this so I could take my Dot outside to play music/radio and found it is really easy to set up and connect. The sound is good but not the best( not much base ). The only problem I have found is that when your playing music or even talk radio is on it's hard for you to wake Alexa as the noise is not allowing your voice to be heard. Even at a low volume she still struggles to hear your voice. Other than that I can see no issues..!

Brilliantly loud
Very loud it's brill volume is more then double its original level and live the portability. Only downside is I can't link it to my iPhones network when away from home I have to link my iPad to my iPhone personal network and then link echo to my iPad. Not sure how it would work if you don't have an iPad.
