FANTASTIC READ ❤️❤️❤️
This is the 2nd in the series and OH BOY, it’s doesn’t disappoint. Our heroin finally discovers what her other half is (beyond witch). Her life is about to change and I can’t wait to read book 3! Well written with characters you think could be Real.A fun beach read. LOVED IT.

Still loving this series
And she's back...after the loss of Sienna to the portal, Jade is hurting. Sienna was not only her non-blood related sister, but her best friend. Someone she thought she knew better than anyone, and would never have imagined her turning to blood magic, much less killing a bunch of Adepts to gain power. When young Mory, sister to Rusty, Sienna's murdered boyfriend and partner in the death of the other Adepts slain for their magic, shows up at bakery looking for closure, Jade is torn. She understands the need for Mory to see the best in her brother, but she also doesn't want to bring the fledgling necromancer anywhere near the scene of his murder.Things once again get complicated when Jade learns there are more portal and that Sienna may have survived her trip through one and joined forces with a sorcerer, one who likes to collect powerful things and people. With new found allies in Kandy and Kett, Jade is once again rushing to stop Sienna from hurting those she cares about in her quest to gain more power.Ok, so at this point, I'm hooked. Again, some of the characters drive me insane, but still love Kett and Kandy. They have their quirks, but are actually pretty damn loyal to Jade.

Ambiguous
Have to read book three to see if I'm wrong...Possible spoiler alert:Jade is elevated too far too soon. I was really enjoying her stumbling along baking cupcakes and exasperating her "mentors."

Hmm, probably 3.5 stars for me
So Jade spends this entire book bemoaning the fact that she has been naïve and powerless...and then she continues to stick her head in the sand and whine. She really tried my patience in this book. I tried to cut her some slack since her life has undergone so many changes in the last book, however I didn't respect her behavior. SPOILER: Jade sneaks out through a window although she knows there is present danger outside, and she does it because she is bored. Could she be anymore irresponsible? Or the fact that she never questions Kett's "treasure hunt." Although her interior monologue repeatedly assures the reader that vampires are always accumulating knowledge and power, and are therefore untrustworthy? She's determinedly and willfully clueless! END SPOILER. However, that said, the ending of this book made all the rest of the book worth it to me. Although I did not love this book, as I did the first in the series, I immediately bought book three on the strength of the ending of this book. I couldn't wait to see what happens next to Jade.

Better and better
A warning: I plan to post this review for all three books to make sure potential readers get to see it regardless of the order in which they view each title.I have now read all three books currently extant in this series. I have not enjoyed a plot-related group of books this much in a very long time. The concept is delightfully weird and the execution is direct and professional. The characters take precedence over the crazy and entertaining paranormal story, each one drawn in an elaborately three-dimensional manner, and the action and comedy serve only to heighten your love (or hate) of each "person." There are witches and dowers and shape-shifters and sorcerers and demons. And there are cupcakes. Lots and lots of cupcakes. I believe I actually gained three pounds reading the first book.Others have listed plot points in their reviews, but I think it's better to discover them while reading, so I will say nothing. What I WILL say, though, is that a reader needs to carve out time for these books, for once begun, each one is Very Difficult to Put Down until it has been finished.

Amazing and stunning ending!
I happened upon Ms. Doidge by chance based on a review I read on a blog that was recommended by another blogger. I downloaded the first of the dowser series and was completely and totally hooked. I could not put my iPad down for a second. Then this stunning book was finished and I realized there was a second book in the series. I am a huge fan now. Her imagination is unparalleled. Unique. The types of magic and characters that she has come up with are amazing, interesting, and like nothing I've read before. As I was reading these two books, it occurred to me that they would make a wonderful HBO series in the vein of True Blood. Her characters are deep and interesting. There's enough magic between the characters to keep you reading. I did not see the ending coming and was completely surprised. I really think that Ms. Doidge has a career ahead of her akin to some of the best fantasy writers out there. I can't wait till she is finished with the third book in the series. Meanwhile I plan to devour every single book she has written.

Looks silly, but isn't, I promise! It'll suck you right in!
I love the main character, she is so diverse! All of the plot lines are complex, or full, but very easy to get attached to. Allow yourself enough time to read it all!

Dragons rule. No, really!!!
This second book in the journey of half witch Jade has allowed her to become a little better at who she really is. But no one really knows who fathered her on that mystic night during a called fertility rite. In addition, she is mourning the loss of her adopted sister, Sienna, killed while falling through a portal of golden light. Her attention is soon refocused on a child, Mory, who is the sister of the necromancer boyfriend, killed by Sienna as she lusted after the power that magic brings. Guilt and duty will push Jade into another deadly adventure, as Mory insists Jade is alive. It will take a magical collector, a trip to Seattle, and a stowaway to unravel the tangled politics and gene pool that surrounds Jade. This author has created a world of magic that is both scary (the werewolves), and sweet (the cupcakes), and smells really good (toasted marshmallows, chocolate, Chinese food, anyone!?!), along with a healthy dose of sarcasm and nice shoes! Enjoy!

Half witch, half ........?
With Rusty dead and her sister pulled through the portal, it feels that life has gone back to what it was. The appearance of Rusty's sister changes that as does an invitation to meet with a powerful sorcerer. However betrayal, the reappearance of her sister and a demon mean that she can only do one thing. Take the demon through the portal! Will this be enough to finish off the demon? Will the two companions that followed her make it? Will she survive going through the portal? Where exactly does it go? A brilliant plot and the characters are now coming into their own as they fight for survival.

It's a nice safe book that takes me to a magical world ...
Oh dear, this is one of those books that the second I get to the end I have to go and buy the next in the series. It's a nice safe book that takes me to a magical world when I am trying to stop my brain spinning with work - the sort of thing I save to read at night to relax me before going to bed. I like the ay she describes the magic as having different tastes. Would definitely recommend it - I have just bought the next in the series - Treasures, Demons, and Other Black Magic (Dowser Series Book 3)Treasures, Demons, and Other Black Magic (Dowser Series Book 3)

Read this series!
A slight bend in one corner where Amazon didn't package it very well which upset me but it's only small and the actual story is brilliant! I love this book so much! Brilliant author. I actually have the ebooks but wanted the physical books because they are amazing books! Love it!

Trinkets, Treasures, and Other Bloody Magic
I don't actually know what to say--other than I can't possibly praise this book enough. I have found the collection of books absolutely freaking amazing so far and I can't wait to read the rest. So far I WILL most definitely be recommending them to other people.
