the hornit is loud draws attention wake people up when they daydream and step into the road before using hornit i used to show a lot now a days i allow the hornit to do the job some people get offended when i shout but when the hornit shoput at them they jump shocked and be out of my way. for sure even i noisy busy traffic area the hornit help me to stay safe in cycle lanes and off road. my first hornet a number of years now price were much lower there is now upgrades that cost a little more my first hornit were amazon i don't know what i were thinking i also buy on other website then i wondered what's going on i am paying too much then i stop think went back to amazon the cost of the 140Decibel world loudest bicycle horn is a lot cheaper and better value on amazon. todate i own 5 hornit i am a lover of bicycles and rely on my trusted friend the hornit to help keep me safe on the road.

A well constructed but not waterproof unit. If any rain gets into the unit it will stop working, the button can be replaced quite cheaply from the HornIt website, but the main unit will set you back another £30 (current Amazon price) to replace if it breaks due to water damage. This is the biggest negative feature.Unit comes with "Garmin like mounts" but the official Garmin mounts are too small for the unit and cannot be used so they are not interchangeable.The brackets supplied don't fit every handlebar size, contrary to claims otherwise. The large bracket cannot be used with the supplied spacers underneath, due to how the spacers and larger bracket are designed, meaning the large bracket fits 32mm handlebars only. The smaller bracket fits 22-26mm handlebars, leaving an incompatibility issue for any handlebars measuring between 27-31mm.Unit is clearly designed for road / gravel / touring bikes not MTB, contrary to claims otherwise, as it will not fit most MTB handlebars and the intended use case of the product is to be loud enough for pedestrians to hear over busy traffic. The hornIt on a MTB trail, despite the advertisement, would be, too loud and too aggressive.On a road bike it takes up a significant amount of room of the handlebar.The louder 140db bird chirp like sound seems to cause confusion, a stop and look confused like a squirrel in headlights, in the majority of pedestrians, possibly because it's a sound which is very unfamiliar on the road, but the quieter, still loud enough for busy road use, horn sound most pedestrians respond well to, in the same way as they do to a car horn sound. Everyone knows what a horn sound means. Pedestrians with headphones in who walk into the road like zombies still cannot hear it.It is by virtually all measures better than a bell on the handlebars for its intended use and can be heard over rush hour traffic by both pedestrians, other cyclists and from inside cars in most cases.

Bought in Jan 2024, was great initially and great product concept. However, it has gradually worked less and less well until now not working at all. Not great for a safety-focused product you need to rely on in London traffic! Not sure if it's the activating button that no longer works or the horn itself. Going to have to buy another horn (since > 1 year), try it, and if it's no good. If it's the button, I'm not sure I can be bothered to undo the neat tape wrapping I've done to hide the wire from the horn to the button.

I cycle commute in london everyday and this has saved me from so many situations.It is very loud and can even be heard by cab drivers, bus drivers, and bone heads in white vans!I do get a secret pleasure at making dozy tourist leap at the sound as they drift across the roads not looking!But seriously this has saved me from some potentially serious situations...totally recommend it...just don't use it in a small room!
