Perfect for Lorries, great kit.
Update 14 Oct '16--------------------Still Works, as good as new as the day we bought it. No problems encountered.Great Stuff!-------------------Original Review:I bought this for my dad so he has some means to see whilst reversing his WW2 military lorry. As with any lorry, the rear end is a massive blindspot, and without a camera, you might as well be blindfolded trying to back it up.I specifically ordered this kit for several reasons:- It can run on 12 or 24v power. We required 24v for the lorry and works a treat. (A lot of reversing kits are only 12v?)- Big 7in TFT screen. Great to see at a glance without squinting at a tiny screen trying to manoeuvre the lorry.- Heavy duty camera. Housed in a metal case, it feels very robust and take on whatever the weather will throw at it. Also has an adjustable shade on top of it.- IR camera/ sensors for night time use.- Price. IMO the Value for Money-to-Quality ratio is superb! Doesn't feel cheap and nasty, feels like it will last years.I'm no techie but I'm assured by my dad that it's easy enough to wire and set up. However I noticed there was no instructions with the kit, so that might be a stumbling block if you're not tech savvy...However, I like that it comes with a tiny remote control so you don't have to reach over to the screen to use it. In addition you can leave the camera on during your trip, not just for reversing - makes for a great rear view mirror!Overall, I recommend (and has my dads approval which is more important!)Worth the money, folks. Go for it! :-)

Cheap maybe but high quality Item
I purchased this item for my new van and to be honest thought it was going to be cheap and cheerful but I wanted something to help me when reversing my van and for £37 thought it was a risk worth taking. The Item arrived very quickly within a few days and on inspection looks well made. The only down side was the instructions there were none but I simply went to Google and search for advice. The Camera was simple to fit straight into the reversing wiring on the rear light..The length of cable supplied then went from the camera to my cab and into the Monitor lead. The Monitor itself was connected to the ignition live so only comes on when I turn the engine on or you can connect it straight to the reversing switch lead which means it will only come on once reverse is selected. There are two connectors on the monitor so you can have a second camera fitted which I intend doing at some point for a different view point. The picture quality is second to none very good indeed the screen display show a graph of line which helps in accurate positioning of the vehicle. You can not record on this item which is fine as its not needed for its use but for the price an absolute bargain. There are attachments to fix the monitor to the dash I have however fitted it low down in front of my gear stick to protect it from the heat of the sun and hopefully allow it to last much longer. I would strongly recommend this item as a cheap option my brother in law spent £500 having his put in and it does look nice I admit but so does mine.

Description & guesswork issues
Item arrived on time. The two boxes, one for camera, one for monitor were shrink wrapped together. I thought that these delicate items should have been in a second box to prevent potential damage. The inside packaging is at minimum.Supplied instructions are very poor. These two components are not normally designed to go together & need decent instructions. After managing to work out the connections, all worked ok.The monitor has 2 video inputs, one for the reversing camera & one for another video input of some sort. The picture can be swapped between these 2 by using screen push buttons. When in reversing mode, text appears on screen saying 'reverse'It's a nice little unit but VERY poor documentation. However, I didn't buy the unit for reversing. I wanted unit to monitor a blind spot. The problem is that the actual camera generates coloured guide lines across the monitor with no way to disable it.There is one sentence in the description that mentions this, which at the time I didn't understand what they meant. Neither the sales promotional literature nor the photos on the boxes the unit came in showed these lines. For someone who's happy with these digital guide lines on the monitor, this unit is ideal for a vehicle mounted reversing camera for the price.

Works for me
* We haven't had any really wet weather since I installed it, so not sure how waterproof the camera is.* The screen is fairly large, and it's hard to find space for it in the cockpit* Works in the dark with the infra red LEDs.* Switches on in less than half a second when I engage reverse (it's powered and triggered off the reversing light).* I mounted it too low on my car by the towing hitch. It's a lot easier to judge distances if it's a bit higher looking down.* Perhaps for the same reason the coloured lines overlayed on the screen to help judge distance are not much help and I haven't worked out how to switch them off.Edit: A few months later the camera has stopped working. It may be my inadequate wiring - I don't have time to investigate :-(.

Probably a great product
I received my camera and display today but disappointed to find the display broken. This is entirely due to the two items squeezed into the box meant only for the display and the feeble outer packaging. Obviously no one at Cooler has witnessed the care which Royal Mail lavish on these items. If they had it would travel with more than a single thin jacket of bubble wrap. I'm hoping to be able to report on prompt replacement shortly. The camera however appears to work well, it sports a sustantial robust case and although only tested at night (on a existing 4 inch display), seems to provide good picture quality with a reasonably low noise level. The camera 'guidance and ranging lines' look very useful. Looking fwd to being able to report on the complete outfit soon.....
