I was happy to find this large 4 blade fan on Amazon
I saw a smaller 2 blade fan on another website that cost 3 times as much but I was intrigued by the concept of a thermal powered fan. I was happy to find this large 4 blade fan on Amazon that includes a thermometer to use on my A-frame cabin's Lopi woodstove. Until I go back to the cabin next week I have been using it on my Propane woodstove in my home. It works really well. It takes very little heat for the fan to spin.It will be especially useful when the power is out (which is often at the cabin) because it will disperse the heat from wood or propane stove even though the ceiling fans and blower will be inoperable. It's a green product and other than the initial purchase, it costs nothing to run. I'm going to purchase another unit for use on my Propane woodstove once I take the current one to the cabin.Update: Took the fan to the cabin for use on the woodstove. Works great especially during the night when the ceiling fan is off. The heat actually makes it up the stairs into the master bedroom. It doesn't need alot of heat to make it run either. There are cheaper models out there but this one moves twice as much air. It moves 250-330 CFM (cubic feet per minute). Some of the cheaper 4 blade fans only move 130 CFM.

Don't Be Fooled by Its Size or Low Air Flow -- Great Fan for Wood Stoves!!
Amazed at this little thing. It is smaller than expected but does the job extremely well. We have a great wood stove and have been using a flat fan affixed to the wall that is electric. That's done us well but it is becoming louder and louder as the years go on and it is not in the most efficient location. Right out of the box, this little baby kicked in and VERY QUIETLY pushes out nice warm air. Don't be fooled by the fact that you cannot feel a huge gust of air. You will feel some but it is more about its constancy of distributing the heat. We are heating a large room with an open plan to a kitchen. This does very well!! Recommend!!!

Helps Heat My Shop Up Quicker
I bought two. One for each side of my stove pipe. Have a 1400sqft shop that used to take quite awhile to get to a comfortable temp. With these fans, took a lot less time. Many people think you should feel a physical breeze, like with a fan you plug into a wall. These will never spin that fast and of course the blades are much smaller with minimal pitch than those oscillating house fans, but I do feel somewhat more heat reaching me when I stand in front of them on each side comparing when I stand in center of stove.Bi-metal underneath is a neat idea to lift base off stove surface to prevent over heating fan. Included thermo for the stack pipe is a very good idea in many ways. I'm guilty as to never having a thermo on my pipe. Now I know when to cut back on the intake air not to over heat my stack and fans. Like I said, I have two fans so two thermos. I put the other thermo on my stove surface. Was surprised of the different temps stack to stove surface. Will base my intake air regulation off what the fans feel.Bi-metal is not super accurate in calibration when they lift bases, comparing the two side-by-side. Will be interesting to see which one lasts longer lifting base much sooner than the other.Made in China. I think all the knock-offs are. Originals are still made in Canada. One star off for the bi-metal calibrations, but mostly longevity still TBD.

Doesn't do the job beautifully any longer
Works beautifully. We always used a ceiling fan to help move the warm air from our woodstove but the corners of the room were always cool. We no longer have the ceiling fan going and the room is warm in the corners. Our only regret is we didn't purchase a fan like this sooner. It seems to be of good quality and looks nice on the stove. The fan has a pleasant hum to it, not annoying like an electric fan. Will recommend to others.UPDATE: Our fan has stopped working. We have followed the instructions and kept the temp. guage in the red as instructed, placed the fan to the back of the stove and it seems it can't handle the heat. Loved it when it worked, love the way it looks but extremely disappointed that it quit on us. Cannot recommend this purchase any longer. Sad

As advertised. Neat little fan.
This is a nice little fan. I put it on top of my old style wood burning stove in my basement, and burned for 3 days straight during the latest cold snap we had here in Illinois. The fan is virtually silent and really moves a substantial volume of heat. This little fan starts spinning about 3 -4 mins. after lighting my stove. My entire basement got really toasty. Compared to just about 10 - 15 feet around the stove before the fan. I felt the heat half way down the stairs that are on the complete opposite corner of the room. Very satisfied, and I recommend this size fan for a medium sized room.

Great while it worked
Used this for a little over a year and it worked great, until it didn't. It was quiet and pushed a fair amount of warm air in the right direction. Really happy with it until one day the fan rattled loose and flipped right off the spindle. I stuck it back on but it didn't stay more than an hour and then off it came again. Can't see what ever held it on in the first place. I finally quit trying after many days hoping this time it would hold. Too bad.

Great idea but...
Ordered two different ones... neither worked very long. Returned one. Got another, also stopped working after about 4 weeks. Was very quiet when it did work.

Works great!
Arrived quickly after ordering. This fan works great. We often times will lose electricity during winter storms. This fan assures we will always be able to distribute the warmth from our wood stove, even when we have no electricity. Also, even when the fan on our wood stove is working, we can re-direct some of the warmth from the stove in another direction than the attached fan blows it. Our stove faces the living room, and now we can direct warm air down the hallway towards the bedrooms, or to the kitchen/dining area, depending on where it is needed. The fan starts running after the stove and stove-pipe have warmed up. The hotter the stove, the faster it runs. I can 'see' when I need to add wood to the stove just by looking at how fast the fan is running, which is another bonus! I love this fan and may purchase another one in the near future, for those power outages!
