These are much better than the other silicone hot pads that I have. They are solid and the heat goes through them too quickly, whereas the hollow effect of these keeps the heat away from surfaces much better. They are also easier to grip things in the oven than solid ones.

Love these. Easy to store and can't believe the best they absorb. Fantastic for keeping my new worktop safe.

We have a couple of these in the kitchen for hot pots and grabbing things out the oven. I'm using another as an oversized, drip-catching coaster for mugs of tea (already saved a couple of spills!). I'm using the last one as a pinning mat for repinning locks - the grid holes are ideal for holding pins and easily modified to hold springs too. I know it's not really their purpose but I think they might be good for other hobbies too, especially as all four can be laid out to cover larger areas. So I'd say they're pretty versatile! I kinda wish I'd have gone for the black ones now, I wasn't concentrating when I bought them, but other than that I'm very pleased; they're well made, a good size, insulate heat well, and have more uses than you'd think.
