Great Value, Low Cost Radio, Tunes In, Good Audio, Fun to own.
I bought this for nostalgic reasons. I just wanted to buy a little radio I could take anywhere and listen wherever I go. I thought it would be fun. When I was a 12 year old kid in the very early1960's in a remote area of Southern Wyoming, I had a transistor radio Mom and Dad bought for me. It was so much fun to carry around in shirt or pants pocket and tune in a station to listen to on my own when working or playing in the fields.I have to say, I understand today why it was so much fun then, because it still is today. The tuner is small and very delicate (just like back then) except it actually tunes in far better. It takes a bit of time (a few seconds if you know the frequency you want) to get right on your station, but when you do, it stays tuned in very nicely with no static or cross-talk like the old ones had. Audio quality is really far better than you would expect for such a small package, far better that the ones I had as a kid. Reception is good even for remote stations. I listen in my house, out fishing, or anywhere I go. As much fun today as ever before.

Certainly the best under $20 shirt pocket radio now available
Certainly the best under $20 shirt pocket radio now available. Very strong reception on both AM and FM. Very good battery life. Note that this is a mono only radio. The tuning can be a bit fiddly, but once tuned you are all set. On AM the radio is quite directional, meaning you may have to turn the radio 180 degrees to find the strongest signal.I live about 50 miles from the big city, and it pulls in both AM and FM signals from that distance, no problem. I use it mostly for spoken word stuff: NPR, sports and news so the speaker or the mono headphone works fine. It does not come with 2 AA batteries, nor any earphone. I like the black color better than the silver, but they work the same. A great little companion, and perfect emergency radio, great do drop in the backpack. But if you are looking for a truly fine portable that does it all look at the Tecsun PL 880- probably the best portable on the market in any category- but they are $150- worth it,- but expensive. If you want a little radio for your fishing tackle box so you can listen to the ball game, the Vondior at $20 or less, cannot be beaten.

Very satisfied buyer
Definitely well worth the price. Flawless performance over the 1st 6 months of use. My mother is 94 years old, wheel chair bound, very hard of hearing, and essentially blind from macular degeneration. She lives in an assisted living facility where multiple times a day she will wheel herself outside to a shady courtyard - after breakfast, lunch, and dinner - and have a cigarette. Yes - 94 and still smoking! Her lament is that in the post Covid world the assisted living facility has told her that the courtyard is the only place on the facility grounds that she may go for a cigarettte - which also happens to be very isolated and lonely. She misses the occasional interaction with friendly passers-by, the shadowy sights and sounds of cars coming and going and in general anything in her environment to break the quiet boredom of isolation. This is where the transistor radio comes into the picture. She said being all alone in that courtyard might not be so bad if she at least had a radio to listen to. The transistor radio from Vondior fits nicely in her purse. I equipped it with a set of ear buds/ear phones which are always jacked in and just wound around the radio when not in use. I tuned in her favorite talk radio station and then duck taped the tuning dial in place so it wouldn’t get bumped out of tune inadvertently. She never has to extend the antenna (excellent reception) so it stays in its slot along side the radio. All she has to do is unwind the earbuds and insert them in her ears and slowly manipulate the thumb dialed on-off/volume control. There is a crisp click when it’s turned on followed by a smooth increase in volume. Using the earbuds permits a lower volume level and spares the batteries. They have a only been replaced once in the last 6 months because she didn't turn it off completely after using it one day.I cannot begin to describe the absolute joy and sense of empowerment this has bought my mom. I’ve lost count of the number of times she has thanked me for the effect it has had on her quality of life! I have ordered a 2nd transistor radio identical to the first which we will dial into her favorite Country&Western music station and again duck tape it in place so it stays in tune. She will also keep in her purse along side the 1st one. The 2nd radio will be a different color - and she can then choose to listen to talk radio or music on any given day! She’s so excited about the 2nd one! That such a simple gift can have so incredible an impact on a persons life is itself incredible and humbling.

Came Intact But Nonfunctional
I work well with electronics and I have worked with all kinds my entire life so I feel very confident to say that there was no damage to the radio itself however when initially opened and put batteries inside of, the on light would turn on when switched to the on position but the radio itself would not make any noise or leave any signal to show that it's working other than that light. without having to open it up I can only say that it probably was the speaker getting damaged through shipping or something else that caused an issue or the malfunction that occurred. I will say though for the price you get what you get and is cheap so if it got damaged it happens. and to give it some good reviews I will say that it is a comfortable sized radio the controls are in it wonderful positioning for easy use and it is a very well designed aesthetically and usability wise. if the radio were to be working I would give it 5 out of 5 stars no questions asked however since I do not have a working radio I cannot review whether the actual signal is good enough or if it's a quality sounding radio or if they even picks up the signal well and maybe it's just a fuzzy. but anything that doesn't have to do with the signal or sound which I cannot comment on I will say is designed very well to give the benefit of a doubt.
