use it for quilt sewing
Prompt delivery. I bought it to use it for pressing down & opening up my seams prior to ironing them, if you use your nail it can stretch the fabric. So far it works beautifully , I am very pleased.

Shocked and disappointed ....
When I read a measurement of 1.5” / 40mm I took that to be the width of the roller not nearly the width of the outside of the metal bracket. So the roller is 30mm wide and about 25mm in diameter (I haven’t taken the product out of the packet to measure accurately). I wanted a roller that had a bracket that went all around the roller, I have got that it’s just the sizes are miss leading, so if you want a very tiny roller this is the one. As the roller is not unpacked I have not reached a conclusion about the quality.

Good quality at a realistic price
This is a near-professional tool, not to be confused with the cheap and nasty equivalents sold by D****r or S*******e for a couple of £, several examples of both were discarded after one or two uses for their poor quality. The roller is suspended within a thick brass U-shaped frame, rivetted at both ends and rotates very freely. There may be a ball-race system within to ensure free rotation. The roller is claimed to be ebonite (a very hard rubber) creamic but does not have the necessary odour or texture and may be some other material as it is far too smooth. The handle is solid wood and not a thin hollow plastic that is likely to break.Although intended for use when paper hanging, it has some similarities to another used by a friend when hand-printing from wood- and lino-cut plates and also small engraved or etched plates onto hand-made paper but that one definitely uses a ceramic meterial although larger rubber rollers are also used for the larger plates.Expensive but probably worth its price.

Super paper roller
Robust, a handy tool for ensuring wall paper joints are flat, I use this to help fold large format drawings. Rolling them on a flat surface ensures the drawings stay flat and are easy to fit into an envelope.
