If you've found my related review, I had some plumbing to do and - being as far removed from DIY competent as humanly possible - only owned half a set of rusty imperial spanners, a hammer and a flat-head screwdriver.This looked like the sort of thing that a plumber would own, so I ordered it - and it pretty much did the job by itself.It doesn't jiggle loose, seems very robust (as far as I know) and was superb value.

I didn't realise adjustable spanners where so pricey so settled on this as it was more than the 2" I needed and less than £30 without looking like it would snap at he first turn.It's cheap and cheerful and did the job. ...That job being releasing the plug nut under a sink. It feels like it could take on meatier work but you gets whats you pays for.

I'd inherited one of these which had been around since WW2 but the screw mechanism became badly worn and I was forever fixing it when it fell apart. The new one is remarkably similar in form and works very well. There's nothing special about the operation, it's an adjustable spanner. Its forte is that, unlike the usual adjustable, the jaws are at right-angles to the handle and this will fit in places where the other type of adjustable cannot be turned. I use it almost exclusively for plumbing jobs, e.g. radiator valves, where the workspace is confined and close to the wall. Put one in your tool box, it'll get you out of a fix sooner or later.

A very solid high quality wrench. I will be turning it into a twisting wrench but have used it for it's intended purpose as I had it to hand. For the job I was doing it took a lot of punishment (trying to free a rusty bolt), the jaws stayed tight and square around the nut and even with 16 stone of weight on the handle it stayed solid and in one piece. The jaw adjustment is smooth and precise.

Enabled me to ‘nip-up’ a weeping compression joint with very confined access. Good firm purchase on nut.

I've owned these for nearly 6 years and they're still fantastic.Stop scraping the life out of new lockshields and trvs get these toothless grips on them and tighten till your hearts content

Heavy tool, but good with 90 degree, Does not slip. But it is flimsy and change adjustment if you are screwing with it. As a support, it works really good.Jaws could have been a bit longer. Change circulation pumps with large slim brass nut works. 1 1/2" thread.
