Mostly effective against most mollusks
I bought a few of these for our large wooden four-compartment planter. Last year, slugs and snails absolutely devoured our tomato plants so I thought this time round, I'll take preventative measures.I basically ran quite a lot of the tape along all sides of each compartment, overlapping as neatly as I could to form a two inch barrier. The tape applies and adheres to wood surfaces really well. You can fold it around corners and press it flat to make it form around uneven surfaces. And it looks as if it'll weather okay.In terms of its performance, it does stop most slugs and snails as I have observed one or two of them approaching the plants and then turning back once they reached the tape. And yes, I actually did observe. I sat there... watching them... through a window... on a very dull... boring... wet afternoon. That's when you realise just how damn slow these bloody things move...However, there are one or two I have seen who will just 'go for it' and actually get quite a way across the tape. I'd like to think they're getting their little arses fried off in the process... but it actually looks like they're just the equivalent of a person who is a bit ticklish getting poked with a feather duster whilst wearing a puffer jacket. In any case, on the whole, the copper tape does work. Mostly. If I was to advise on usage, I would say 'apply liberally'. Maybe my two inch barrier should've been a three. And as it's pretty good value as a multibuy, I might just get some more and add that inch.

I like the product, easy to apply.
When putting on to pots found it easier to cut tape to slightly bigger than diameter and rotate the pot, be careful not to pull to hard as it will snap but it's easy to overlap the snapped ends and start again. (Can put an extra piece in it too short as it sticks well to its self) On sides of both plastic and pottery pots it has adhered well. The only pot it's unstuck a little is where I put it on a top rim of a shallow pot and hadn't put in another little nicks to get the tape to wrap properly, so I have learnt not to rush things. The only slugs and snails found on the plants since I believe we're already in the plants and soil before applying the tape. So waiting to see what the future looks like. On one pot I have clearly seen snail trail going up to tape and then turning away. As long as it reduces amount of munching on plants without affecting my hedgehogs and birds The way slug pellets do I will be happy. The copper is already ageing nicely.TheI have bought three lots and will be buying more.

Let's see if it works.
Can't really review it until it's been on a couple of months to see if it works.

It works, extremely durable
Been having problems with slugs getting into my chicken coop at night and getting into their food (which is hanging off of the floor from a wooden beam). Then they would be gone next day after leaving all the food stuck together with slime which would dry and create a big lump of gooey food.I wrapped this copper tape around the beam and around the top of the food container. Not one bit of slug trail or slime since (a week later). The tape itself is pretty good quality, similar to extra strong kitchen foil and is easy to attach. Not sure how it would hold up in the rain if used outdoors but if you liken it to how you could wrap silver foil around something but with the addition of it being sticky then I think it would hold up. Remember to clean surfaces well before sticking it though.22/04/2020Thought I'd just add an update: so, months and months later the copper tape is still going strong. It's started to get that green colour but still works the same and still I've not had a bit of slime. I can now confirm this tape is absolutely awesome. Not only have I now put it around the water feeder in the garden and it's still intact after weeks outside in all the elements, I can also confirm that it's adhesion and durability is amazing. I put all of the chickens water and feeder containers in the dishwasher on a hot temp and not one bit of copper tape has come away.

Slug off!
I purchased Copper Slug Tape Multibuy 3 x 4m rolls after buying a single pack at a local store to use around one of my self watering troughs. It worked so well at keeping the smaller slugs / snails from demolishing my plants that I decided to buy more to use on the rest of my pots / troughs. These are good value for the price as this stuff is expensive for the amount you get but the biggest downside is trying to fit it - without breaking, curling etc., in a neat straight line around the pot! This may be due my cack handed attempts but it is fiddly to fit! Once around the pot/trough it seems to do the job against some of the garden marauders but will not deter the larger specimens - I note another reviewer has doubled the tape and will try that as I seem to have inherited a whole nation of slugs and snails determined to demolish everything I plant! It has deterred enough to allow my plants to flourish so will order more!
