My nieces and nephew love this game
Formula D is good multiplayer game (better with more players but takes longer) that has 2 versions of the rules (beginner and advanced). The game is easy adaptable to incorporate the beginner rules with some/all of the advanced rules to get a balance depending on the level of the players. I would recommended playing the beginners version first as it familiarises the basics of the game.Age 14+ is perfect for the more advanced rules. Beginner rules are suitable for ages 8-10The rules state the game lasts 2 laps which I consider is the perfect length playing the beginners rules - You can add more laps if you wanted to.I would not make the game last more than 3 laps as my only criticism is that it’s hard to catch up If you get too far behind. There is a lot of replay ability as when the game becomes too simple you can move to the advanced rules. The game comes with the F1 Monaco Track on one side of the board and a street race on the reverse - the street track had obstacles where certain tiles cause damage to your car.The board is huge (approx 65cm by 96cm).Each player has a gear box, you select to move up or down gears depending how much you want to move. You have to slow down for corners by stopping a set number of times in each corner or accelerate through the straights. Each gear has a corresponding dice to roll:Yellow dice = moves 1 to 2 (1st gear)Orange dice = moves 2 to 4 (2nd gear)Red dice = moves 4 to 8 (3rd gear)Green dice = moves 7 to 12 (4the gear)Purple dice = moves 11 to 20 (5th gear)Blue dice = moves 21 to 30 (6th gear)Go to fast and you will receive damage, receive too much damage and you are out the race. You can also purchase 6 additional packs costing between £11.00 - £25.00 each (2 extra tracks per pack - each pack contains one F1 track on one side of the board and a street track on the reverse). All the additional tracks are unique - F1 tracks where some are fast tracks with long straights and some slow tracks with lots of corners. All street tracks are unique and have different rules for different obstacles such as jumps or mud/ oil in the road.In my opinion the extra tracks are not worth more than £15.00 as its just 2 extra tracks. The only disappointment about the extra tracks is that they didn’t come in a box - they come in a thin cardboard sleeve (like a book).Overall Formula D is a good game. You don’t have to be a F1/ racing fan to enjoy this game but if you are you will love this game.

My favourite board game ever!
This is an updated version of the old F1 board game but with dice. If you know how to play the old game you'll get the gist pretty quickly. If you're new it will take a couple of goes around to get it all, but that's why they have a guide for amateurs and more experienced players so you can play at all levels.Once you get the hang of it, way more fun, tactical and more competitive that the likes of Monopoly. You get 2 boards also and both sides look great and hard wearing. Worth every penny for the years I'm gonna play this.

Drivers, start your engines!!
This is a great game. The tracks are superbly drawn and Monaco is an accurate representation, It's not just a 'Throw-the-Dice-and-Move' game, you have to hold back or too much damage to the car can eliminate you from the race. I like the 6 dice which represent each gear and a black dice for starting the race and to show any damage to your car. There are also a set of dashboards for you to keep track of which gear you are in and also the amount of damage to your car. Up to 10 can play or if there are up to 5 players, you can use the second car and race as a team. There are 2 instruction books - one for beginners and one for advanced. The board is double sided, with Monaco on one side and a street circuit on the reverse. You get 10 formula one cars and 10 touring cars. The game really gets interesting the more cars there are in the race. You can also buy expansion tracks to give the game more variety. I like this game very much and would recommend it to anyone into board games.

Great for 4-6 players
This game is great fun - it's mainly about balancing risk in the next turn versus reward on this turn (that's how your gearing affects you) and the two boards give plenty of opportunities for changes of fortune between players. It's still a dice game, though, so it's possible that one player can steam ahead on pure luck from high rolls on the straights so it's not for people who don't like an element of chance. The flip side to this is that too many high rolls can really hamstring you as well and it makes for some really gratifying moments among the players. The only downside for me is that it can take a long time to get back around to your turn - there's nothing to occupy you while you go through the other (up to) nine players so it can be an extremely long game and get a little dull at times. It's great for between four and six people with an hour or so to kill.

Great game (for F1 lovers)
Bought this present for my 12y old son birthday and he loved it. In fairness we all loved it and spend time to play it a few times instead the usual F1 games on Xbox.Still using the beginner rules but cannot wait to get a bit more familiar with it and to move in the advanced rules.
