One I often re-read
I love that this is clean. Yes some kisses but no wandering hands (beyond his hair) and no bedroom scenes. I could share this with any friend and not worry about it being too sensual for them.I like the idea of a girl and guy both inheriting half of a cotton mill and figuring how to work with each other. It doesn't go very deep into the conditions and issues of mill workers and industry in England, if you want something that does examine relationships and industrialization you should try North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell.Anyway I can't put my finger on why I like this book so much but I find myself returning to it frequently. I don't always enjoy Amanda Grange's books but I like this one and would say it is worth $1-$3. I can't remember the exact cost for me but those are the usual prices for this length and topic of book.

Rebecca's Snowy Night
ONE SNOWY NIGHT by Amanda Grange is a regency romance also known as REBECCA'S REFUSAL. A search on Amazon will find the reviews for the book under that title. Amanda Grange writes "sweet historicals." So if you only like historical romances with sex scenes, look elsewhere. What you will find in this novel is a courtship of equals with the requisite HEA. Joshua and Rebecca are social equals with like minds who meet one snowy night in an inn where Joshua is less than chivalrous. They are both untitled and their money "comes from trade." They meet again in London to find they share ownership of a mill. Threats to Joshua's life lead to mystery and Rebecca's realization that she should have said yes to Joshua's marriage proposal when she was "compromised" by being seen in an inn bedchamber with him. The mystery is solved and the third time is the charm for Joshua's marriage proposal.Grange's prose saves a standard romance from mediocrity. Dialogue and narrative are crisp and lush with descriptive vocabulary that is not flowery. Some writers have imagination but an insufficient grasp of language use. Amanda Grange has both. I gave the book 5 stars because it is an excellent example of its genre.

A Decent Regency
This was a cute story. A few instances of trope and some awkward passages kept this from being a 5 for me but it was a solid 4. The plot was interesting and I appreciated getting more in-depth information on mills, that was a neat change from the norm. The heroine was quaint, a little 2 dimensional, but not a terrible character. The Hero was drawn in a similar vein. Most of the inner dialogue thought by the main characters was written awkwardly. Leaps of reason were made by one character in regards to the other with no supporting information. For example, Josh considered Rebecca an equal after working with her at the mill but to my knowledge, Becky toured the mill with him once and then saved him from the fire never to return to the mill again. When exactly did they work together? Aside from those moments, the story was interesting. A solid effort. Highly recommended for all Regency Romance lovers.

Romantic, historical, refreshing.
This was a great Regency romance that packed in both a lot of historical elements, plot, and characters. Rebecca and Joshua come to learn that they both have inherited a mill together. Joshua is determined to buy out Rebecca, while she is determined to become competent in her new endeavor. Rebecca is a stubborn woman who seems determined not to fall for Joshua, and he not for her. Little do the pair realize that after a chance meeting outside of London at an inn, they will be thrown together more and more. When there is trouble and threats made on the inn and their lives, the two become passionate about saving the inn and each other. This was a romantic story that was chaste and appropriate for the time period. Quite refreshing.

One Snowy Night
Excellent Story!I enjoyed the attraction between the two main characters. The story line was easy to follow. The author was able to keep me in suspense on who was actually the bad character until it was revealed. The sexual attraction was implied but it never materialized into anything but passioned kisses.

An interesting story
Joshua is a very intriguing character, and Rebecca an intelligent and strong lady. Together they are a couple to be reckoned with.A thoroughly enjoyable and worthy book.

Enjoyable enough
It was your fairly average story. Enjoyable enough to read through, but not really specatacular. I look for a little more maturity in characters.

I've read other Amanda Grange books and have enjoyed them but this one was especially good. It was a quick read, delightful and relaxing. No stress, a little drama and a sweet love story.

Fabulous and clean.
Another fabulous novel from Amanda Grange. Not the upper-classes this time but none the worse for that. Again, there is mystery which is well done and believable. This was the first of Amanda's novels which I have read and I have since, on the strength of this one, purchased 3 more which are equally fabulous: That would be a fairy tale, A most unusual governess, The Earl next door. All include plenty of romantic moments but are completely clean. Thanks, Amanda.

A nice historical link to this great story!
A different and interesting plot with a wonderful element of mystery. The historical content was interesting as well. I enjoyed reading about cotton mills and the Luddites. With some great humorous and some dramatic passages, as well as some lovely secondary characters (and a secondary romance!) this is a great fun read.Love the hero and heroine as well - the heroine in particular, she was so strong-willed and went against society!Funny, light hearted and romantic! :)

Started well
It started well, but it could have done with a bit more beefing out towards the end. The odd surprise would have been nice.
