I was most worried if it would have any bass or not because of the size but with technology continuing to advance, some amazing things are happening. No it’s not like subs in your car type bass or a full home theater system lol buuuut if you know what you are doing and can place it properly it can fill a room with surprising bass. I know that there are bigger/ better portable speakers that will produce more bass but I was looking for something of this stature with quality sound. I have always had a love for JBl and to no surprise they came through. The BT connectivity is great and have had no issues there. Sometimes Bluetooth is annoying but not with this. It feels very durable and well made and should last for years to come. I like my music loud and I use it at work on my side job where I clean and I bring it with EVRY NIGHT and I basically turn it to LOUD as possible lol I was worried at first that I beat on the speakers too much by playing @ about 90-95% volume but it has not shown any wear in just over 3 months. I did try and break them a little before just playing max but I could tell they could take it. I am now comfortable playing at almost max volume. The battery life is pretty great too. Obviously, the louder you go the quicker it will drain but I clean for approx 2-3 hours at almost max volume and it has never died on me. I believe you can play it while it charging as well, which is always a plus. Overall pretty satisfied and I would probably buy another to sync up together buut I am so happy with it I may just upgrade to the next size up to see what that bad boy can do. If I could sync this and bigger one up I most definitely will go that route but If I can’t then I’ll have to think on it for awhile. I have a 3d printer and printed some end caps for the speakers as well. It’s easy to want to grab the sides and it’s not good to push back on them when they are flexing or anytime really. So having these end caps are just an added bonus 👍 I put mine in a crown royal purple bag and it fits perfect lol other then that I think you will be happy… enjoy !!!!

I purchased these to compare with the Bluetooth connectivity of two SONOS Move’s which only work over a WI-FI Network for a stereo pair.The JBL Charge 5 actually sound superior to the SONOS Move, I couldn’t believe it because they are a fraction of the cost and size. They easily paired to one another over a Bluetooth connection, no WI-FI option as with SONOS.Unfortunately, and it’s a well known bug that’s been well written about all over the internet, so your homework, the speakers when paired cut out frequently causing skips in the song, from the signal cutting out. I tested it from the partyboost easy connect from the speaker and also through the app. There seems to be interference when pairing the two Charge 5’s. I had no issues playing just from one speaker and honestly the quality of sound is so pure and good it really doesn’t even warrant having two. I just like the idea of a pair of stereo speakers.Online forums mention updating the firmware for each speaker when connected through the app, but that did not resolve the problem.I’m so sad. I will send these back an opt for the more expensive yet reliable, lessor sounding speaker IMO, the SONOS Move.UPDATE: truly this speaker as a stand-alone is so amazing that I ended up keeping one. The sound is crisp, clear, balanced bass. It didn’t serve my purpose for a stereo pair but it’s incredible sound as a single speaker.

I bought this for my granddaughter for Christmas in 2022. She loved it. It sounds deep, rich and full. The base, midrange and tweeter all sound amazing. If you have friends with one, you can link them all up and play multiple units around the pool or at the beach. Battery life is great and they connect to your phone instantly. It’s the best Bluetooth speaker out there for the price. $119 was a steal.

Got this speaker to pair with my Charge 4 speaker but didn’t read the small print - saying they couldn’t be paired. However, excellent quality speaker - I ended up giving as a gift and got myself a cecond Charge 4 so I could pair them. The 4 is excellent as well but the 5 had a slightly better sound quality.

I have bought the Sony XB41 and preferred the sound over the previous JBL charge 3. I got the JBL charge 4 and bought the Sony XB33 to compare and use one for my jetski. I ended up returning both and thought I would get the JBL charge 5 because it’s rated IP67 and charge 4 was rated only IPX7 since I wanted a water proof speaker for the jetski. Well the verdict is I can’t be more happier than the JBL charge 5 because the sound was way more supreme to both the 4 or any of the Sony. Also the built on the charge 5 is fantastic and way nicer and sturdier than the 4 by far I felt like. I’m really wowed for the first time by JBL. You won’t regret buying the charge 5.

Where to begin?Firstly, we’ll start with the aesthetic value of this speaker. Simply put, it looks beautiful. I purchased the Red version and the color is very vibrant.The matte metallic finish of the JBL logo on the front looks dope. Also the side kicker things with the ! looks awesome when they’re beating like crazy lol!That leads us to the sound quality, and most importantly (for me) the bass.The sound quality is very crisp and you can hear most of the frequencies pretty clearly. The highs and mids are clean but maybe get a little muddled by the bass at times.That being said, the bass is awesome on this thing. I have been listening to this speaker at like half volume and the bass is kicking, you can feel it a little bit even, especially in a bass heavy edm song or rap/hip hop.I also have only charged it once. I charged it to full battery and have been listening to it a good bit the past few days and it doesn’t even seem like the battery indicator light has changed.5/5 stars from this guy! Definitely my favorite speaker I’ve purchased.

Me encantó!! Se oye súper bien, muy potente. Tengo la jbl flip 5 y las puedo conectar a ambas y se oye todavía mejor! En cuanto a la batería 🔋 no dura tanto dependiendo el volumen al que la tengas pero en un rato corto se carga. La recomiendo ampliamente. La encontré en 3140.

Okay so I'm fussy maybe? Checked out the Marshall speaker, good reviews but personally NO, Sound quality was poor in store (John Lewis) so went Bose Soundlink and didn't check it, as last one I had was good, but nope rubbish, very little depth and bass, but ideal for beach I guess as in a silicone body and small.Saw this JBL model on a cruise ship, so had a read, sounds good, so fathers day, I got as gift..JBL are back....... I'm 49, ex bass cadet in my 89 Mustang GT pumping some GTO JBL and amps, but think they went budget and not good for many years, so did not even look at JBL to start with, but they hooked up with I think Harman Kardon?? Which are very good but expensive.Anyway whatever, its bigger than most but sits in back pack fine, it sounds great good bass, wide band of frequencies etc, it can also be used to charge mobile, etc. Yep it's a power bank tooIt's rubber coated and built durable.Only sight hang up? The grill texture would get sand trapped, also the 2 woofers, one at each end are exposed, kids will try and poke, causing damage I'd think.Edit: Just to add the battery life is crazy, used it over three days, maybe 4hr at a time, went to charge but was not even half empty.Go buy it, you WILL love it..

Compre una Charge 5 y me agrado pero no lleno mis expectativas, el sonido es bueno pero al meter ambos canales en una bocina monoaural se vicia el sonido y pierde mucha calidad. Se me ocurrió invertir el doble y comprar otra para mandar el canal izquierdo a una y en derecho a la otra, y aunque se que el costo se duplica y tuve que hacer el esfuerzo en el gasto, la calidad mejoró en un 200%. El sonido es impecable al separa los canales, y entre más separes las bocinas mejor; llena el espacio con un sonido envolvente y de excelente calidad. Si puedes comprar dos hazlo sin pensarlo, si solamente puedes comprar una el sonido es solamente bueno. A una sola bocina le daría 4 estrellas, a las dos en estero les doy 5 sin pensarlo. Dos se van a otro nivel.

Sound excellent for the size. EQ helps at lower volumes. Battery and charge facilities both seem good. Not designed to be portable? We have a Flip 6 for that which is also very nice for the size. Build quality appears excellent, very solid product. Fast and free Amazon delivery as usual!

Absolutely disappointed with this purchase. I was taken in by the description and as it was my first BT speaker purchase I was excited….. untill it arrived. It’s not as bassey or loud as I expected and already thought of how I can replace this one for a better one. What’s more disappointing is that this is the latest model!!! I don’t think I will be going back to JBL as I feel incredibly let down. And this item is not cheap so I feel a little hard done by…
