Fine
I already had this book autographed but in paper back. I just wanted hard back. I was in my late 40s when I started this series of books. I’ve read over 28 of them.

LOVE IT!
Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a huge fan of Sherrilyn Kenyon, I loved her books from the get go but that love grew when she took such an anti bully stance and placed it in her books. Kenyon reaches out to her fans and has been one of the nicest authors I have ever come across. Something that makes buying her books and merchandise so much easier. I would much rather support an author who is nice then one who has a rotten attitude. This book is a price example, her publishing company kept pushing back the release date despite it being finished, Kenyon argues and fights about it because she promised the fans that it would be out in September. She even decided to self publish this one on her etsy page until it would be sorted because of that promise. How awesome is that!Any way, about the book, I love this YA spin off. I like that it gives you so many hidden back stories and information about characters I loved in the Dark Hunter Series. I have seen a lot of people on the fan page shun the YA Series because it was YA and I just laugh at them and tell them that they don't know what they are missing. Kenyon has included some series information regarding the adults back stories in these books. In this book, Nick is having to battle someone who looks just like him. And wait for it DUN DUN DUUUH It is his son. A Son no one knew he even had until just recently. A son who came from the future to steal everything Nick has and is even the one who kills him in the future. In this book you get a lot of back story regarding the Malachai and his friends. You also get glimpses into the future if Nick gives in to the beast inside of him.I read this book in one day, something that is normal for her books since I tend to binge read them. In the coming weeks I am fully intending to re-read the series and take my time and digest the information and fight scene's she packs into this. This book also has a huuuuuge ending that left me wanting more. It was one of those sit up in bed while exclaiming "WHY" Endings.

Nick's journey comes to an end-ish.
Intensity is the official end of the Chronicles of Nick series. Knowledge of CoN is necessary for things to make sense in this book. Intensity is laying the groundwork for the upcoming Shadows of Fire series. I believe this is why I have more questions than answers. I hope the next installment continues to clarify things. As the story begins, Nick finds himself accused of murder. Nick's family and friends work to prove the charges are false. The murder conflict wraps up a little too quick.Nick encounters characters who have more information on his ancestry. These meetings take place in a separate realm that one could argue are not based in reality. One of my frustrations with this story derives from this concern.Nick finds someone has counteracted his attempts to fix his timeline. By the end of the book, Nick believes he has found a way to protect it. For the Dark Hunter story lines to remain unchanged, Nick makes a logical choice. Nick's place in the Dark Hunter series is an important one that cannot be altered. Despite the necessity, the decision is difficult for me to accept. One could argue the experiences in the Chronicles of Nick are now pointless. I will trust in the author's master plan but what good are our lessons if they are forgotten? The gang discovers crucial information about the Sephiroth swords and the mystery surrounding them could aide in future conflicts. The Dark Hunters series is moving forward as CoN plays out in the past. We have come full circle with Nick's journey. It is time for the CoN characters to come out of hiding to impart wisdom and help with these conflicts.I don't want to communicate I didn't enjoy this book, I did. Sherrilyn Kenyon's stories contain intricate plots. Subtle clues are everywhere and can span multiple books. I love and hate her for this. I get easily frustrated when I cannot solve a puzzle right away. Nick has been a favorite of mine since the Dark Hunter series. After all he has been through, he deserves his happily ever after. All my opinions are my own and may not match that of others. I urge all readers to come to their own conclusions.

Authors personal traumas heavily effected this too
It could have been much better if written several years ago along with the authors original dark hunter series volumes. Unfortunately personal issues clearly effect this story (among her ither current releases) and how it is told. It causes it to lose that wonderful sticky attractiveness the originals have. Her books like this one are now cold and distant, run on, and then skips a major event I’d been waiting to read about with Simi. Heavily disappointed over several big storyline details. Shame. Thankfully I have a vivid imagination to fill in and fix this mess in my own mind.

What an intense ride! Loved it!
What an intense ride! This will take you all over the place; the past, the present, the future. So many twists and turns. What an enjoyable confusing, but enlightening read. Of course Nick can make anyone go crazy with his thoughts and the way he speaks. So imagine trying to get clarity with everything all at once and Nick being the one to clear it all up for you. This one is definitely an eye opener to what is really going on. So if you were confused before, this one should clear things up - Just a little bit lol. There are so many emotions, Funny laugh out loud moments, angry moments you will be yelling out loud, and sad moments for sure that almost brought me to tears. I did love the ending and can't wait for the next installment in this series. Also, Sherrilyn added the short story of Nick returning to New Orleans after his mother's death "Fear the Darkness". I'm sure this will help answer those questions that the young adult reader who has not read the adult Dark Hunter series has about what happened to Nick's mother and how he became Ambrose? Great time to add that one in for sure. Another enjoyable ride in the Chronicles of Nick series.

Good but Confusing in places.
Love this series, but oh boy it gets so very confusing now with all the lore and other characters. This was quite hard to read in some places and I just had to ignore some of the references to others as I had no idea who or what they were. It's starting to feel like you need a compendium to this series listing who everyone is just to understand half the storyline.

Brilliant finish but not the end
I must admit that I have the last 3 books of C.O.N on my shelf for ages before I finally decided it was time to finish the series. I absolutely adored them and I so get wait for the next series.I’ll definitely be rereading all of them again

Chronicles of Nick Book 8
Too short, although it did explain a lot around the future and past of Nick Gautier. great to see all the characters heard of in other books coming together and the explanation of how and why.
