I went to visit the meow wolf art exhibit in denver and felt like I stepped into a scene from this movie. Bought the movie right after visiting. You'll love it.

As a fan of both science fiction and Luc Besson's unique style, I had high expectations for "Valerian and the City of A Thousand Planets". And boy, did it deliver! This film is a true visual feast for the senses, with stunningly detailed worlds, imaginative creatures, and mind-bending action sequences.The 4K Ultra HD and Blu-Ray combo pack does justice to the film's impressive visuals, showcasing the vibrant colors and intricate details in crystal-clear clarity. The sound quality is equally impressive, immersing the viewer in the film's epic soundscapes and pulse-pounding music.But it's not just the technical aspects that make this film a standout. The chemistry between the two leads, Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne), is electric and keeps the audience engaged throughout the film. And the supporting cast, including Rihanna, Ethan Hawke, and Clive Owen, all deliver standout performances.While the film received mixed reviews upon its release, I believe it deserves more recognition for its ambitious storytelling and stunning visuals. If you're a fan of science fiction or simply appreciate a visually stunning film, "Valerian and the City of A Thousand Planets" is a must-watch. Blu-ray case arrived with a broken pin, so the case won't snap shut (easily replaced). One of the discs was loose inside the clam shell case, but arrived undamaged plays great. Thoroughly enjoyed the movie.

Valerian is absolutely unique. The only other movie I can compare it to for quirky humor, captivating characters, colorful settings, and even a cool music video segment is The Fifth Element. I loved this movie the first time I saw it, and love it even more with each subsequent viewing. Jaw-dropping graphics, a riveting plot, fun characters and a good mix of drama and (sometimes a bit corny) humor make this a great tale. While character depth and development are a bit shallow, Valerian balances the scales with an enjoyable romp that fills the entertainment bucket to overflowing. It is my favorite movie of the last several years, and I think you'll enjoy this ride too.While this review is for the standard (2D) version of the movie, I must add a note about the 3D version. I failed to grab it when it was readily available on Amazon, and after two years of hunting for a bargain ended up paying three times the original asking price elsewhere — and it was still worth it. Absolutely eye-popping visuals and brilliant colors create a visual feast for the eye. The 3D has plenty of depth for a full-immersion experience. If you like this move and have a 3D TV, the 3D version is worth hunting down. Out of a fairly extensive collection of 3D movies, Valerian is one of my top favorites.Either way — 2D or 3D — Valerian is a fun ride. Get aboard!

Isn't it ironic that a recently released movie was reported to only be shown on less than half the movie theaters of previously released movies?We used to "go to a movie" EVERY WEEKEND. However, once we bought our first Samsung flatscreen "plasma" TV when Sams dropped the cost below $1000 and shortly thereafter bought our first "BLKU-RAY" player, we literally STOPPED going to a theater to be robbed at a refreshment counter, annoyed by rude patrons (especially teenagers), and SHOCKED at the filth of theater bathrooms.In fact, I just checked that our first BLU-RAY purchase was "Into the Blue" (2005) and that is DVD purchase #1403 (yes, he used to NUMBER THEM but stopped doing so a few years ago after exceeding 3000 DVDs).There's no telling what number this DVD is but as a 4K, it's exceptional. Yes, it's an older movie (2017) and we discovered it after watching "Anna" and decided to "catch up" on movies by "Anna's" director, Luc Besson.WOW, what a movie!!! This one is DEFINITELY worthy of your "collection" - which means that it is worth owning in order to watch it again (and again and again) Yes, we are retired, and so to preclude "yelling at my TV set" as it "delivers the news," it's just much more relaxing and entertaining to watch a movie instead.The content of the "extras" is practically a college class in "film school." The way the movie industry shares how they put movie scenes together is simply incredible and VERY ENTERTAINING in its own right.BUY IT!

We love watching this movie especially our son. It's one of his favorites.

Very colourful in story both as animationIt's a pity there's no sequel.Really different from most SF. Lot's of humour.

In genere non amo i film tratti da fumetti, ma poichè amo Luc Besson ho comprato questo dvd. Live action basato sul fumetto fantascientifico" Valerian et Laurelin", è ambientato nel 2740. Besson desiderava portare al cinema questa graphic novel da parecchio tempo, ma solo ora la tecnologia gli ha consentito di realizzare quell'idea. Per me il film è stato una grande delusione. non mi è piaciuto nulla, nè l'ambientazione, nè la trama, nè i personaggi decisamente sopra le righe e soprattutto i due protagonisti, interpretati da due mediocri attori ( Dane Dehaan e la modella Cara Delevingne), pur avendolo visto in lingua originale. Se vi piacciono i fumetti, dategli una possibilità, ma certo non è un film all'altezza della filmografia di Besson, autori di capolavori.
