Boxing Day

Bought this for my sons-in-law for Christmas, so I haven't read it myself, however I have had feedback from them today to say how much they enjoyed reading the book! One told me that it was the first book he had read all the way through for some years, that he looked forward to picking it up each evening while reading it, and that he particularly enjoyed the ending.

What a fantastic read! I loved every page! Really recommended! Slightly slow to start, I ended up reading it in a single day, I just couldn't put it down!

An enjoyable read even though I struggled a little initially, to work out the characters and their relationships. More than just a book about football and it's supporters, it will resonate with those who grew up with a sense of belonging to a community. Thought provoking, heart warming with a few giggles and wry smiles.

Nothing spectacular but it kept me interested to the end. Set in a future that resembled the '90s I wouldn't call it funny, but it made me smile a bit and it also made me think a bit too. It won't win any prizes but overall I enjoyed it, perhaps helped because I read it close to Christmas.
