Great little kit!
This has been a great kit to learn with and I will be implementing it into an actual usable system soon. Hours of fun and works perfectly!

Works but not for pet tags
Was easy to setup, plenty of tutorials online. Unfortunately I couldnt use it, it doesnt work for rfid chips in pets, or those tags that rfid that surefeed and other petcare suppliers use.It requires close contact to trigger and there doesnt appear to be any way to use a wire antenna so that it can read tags passing through a doorway. I couldnt get it to read at the advertised 3cm range.

A Good Introduction to RFID
Hadn't done anything with RFID since the days of serial ports and Personal Digital Assistants, so had to hope that I would be able to understand what I was doing - also being a relative novice with the Raspberry Pi. Soldering the header on the RFID board was the biggest challenge given my ageing eyesight but I was soon able to both write to and read from the included card and fob.Runs off 3.3V, easily obtainable from the Pi's 40-pin header. There's plenty of libraries and example code online, but I soon discovered that I had to switch from node.js to Python as I was never able to write to the EEPROM section of the card using node.Note that the limitation of range is to some degree down to the particular standard that's used by this board rather than the board itself. The range is better with the card than the fob simply because the aerial is bigger.Photo shows our prototype reader and display (using a Neopixel 24 LED ring) built for conference registration.

Good service - but a problem with the E-book
My order arrived ahead of the earliest delivery date in perfect condition. The items were exactly as wanted - BUT. The description includes a E-book, presumably with the instructions I need. For that, the package contained a small card with pictures of E-books and a website address. Unfortunately, the card was in German! Not really a problem as the website address was obvious. However, on visiting the website I found that it was also in German and could not find any way to view it in English. Struggling, I found that an appropriate E-book appears to be available. This is free, but to get it requires entering an online form in German - haven't managed to do that yet :-(

Working well
I bought a cheap one of these from Ebay I think it was. However, it was corrupt, never worked, that's the chance you take when buying cheap. So I paid a little more (well worth the money) and no issues at all.. I have one for the nfc mp3 player I'm building and another for programming nfc cards, leaving 1 spare. No instructions included, but qr code takes you to a site where instructions for this and other products are available. Instructions were clear and example code given.I would definitely recommend this item for your projects and thankyou to the seller..

Great value product, works like a charm
Following the link included with the chips took me to all of the relevant documentation for wiring it up to my raspberry pi, which was easy to read and get hooked up.I didn't use their suggested library for interacting with the chip, googling the board name and then python library brought up a vast selection of code to help you get started with this board.Within about 30 minutes I was scanning all of my student ID and reading it through a simple python script on my raspberry pi.Very happy! Just be prepared to do a bit of soldering (it's really easy)Really cool that it comes with programmable chips and cards to work with too, so that you can start prototyping and getting to grips with the chip without damaging any of your actual RFID cards.

Works flawlessly.
I got this as a little side project to mess around with on my Raspberry Pi.I wasn't too sure how to install this properly but upon purchase I got an email with all instructions and how to install.Within about 15 minutes, this includes soldering time as well, and installation onto the Pi I was running and managing getting the RFID tag recognised and printing the id etc.The fob and the card that come with it worked perfectly as well. This actually seems perfect both for a production and a side-hobby environment!

Top Quality
These are brilliant little readers. Very compatible, all cards and phobs work great with all of the readers. Each card and phob has it's own unique ID. Used it for a project that plays a different mp3 file when the different cards come into contact with the reader.
