I generally like spiders....well that is to say I like them more than flies. They are such annoying sods, buzzing around, gobbing on your cake. But there is one form of spider - the false widow which I do not like. The false widow spider, however, loves my garden shed. And everytime I go in there one of them makes a beeline for me and honestly I am fed up of finding one in my bra nipping me. So I got these and nuked the lot of them. You light it and run away slamming the door shut and cackling like a witch. The neighbours may report this to your GP but tell them it's nothing while drinking a nice glass of chianti. After two hours you will find the spiders are all dead. Air the area properly so you don't actually die too. NB the actual devices are about the size of a film cannister (millenials - these were rolls of material on which pixies drew pictures before iphones were born).

I bought this to eliminate the spiders in my shed, as a last resort. I was hesitant at first as some of the reviews were mixed, and had never used these before, but I bought it and am happy with the results!The instructions weren’t clear to me, as I hadn’t lit anything in a plastic container before, so was worried that I had misunderstood. After I understood, I was a simple process; remove the lid of the plastic container,place on a heat resistant plate, pull the blue paper to straighten it out a bit, light it and run away!I was worried about the potential harm the chemicals could cause, so probably wouldn’t use it in my home unless absolutely necessary, but as it was in my shed I wasn’t too concerned.I waited a few hours, worried that the shed might catch fire, or the wick would end up going out; I wanted to check but had to leave it which was a bit worrying, but everything turned out ok when I checked later.The next day, I opened the shed, and saw a few of the large house spiders curled up on the shed floor, definitely not alive (sorry spider lovers). I was worried that one canister wouldn’t be enough, as it said two were needed for crawling creatures, but it seemed to work well in a small shed.My only concern is that I don’t know how long the chemical is effective for, does it carry on killing bugs for a while after? Also, as I used it in a shed, I will have to retreat again soon due to the spiders getting into the shed really easily.As there were two in the pack, I will be able to retreat soon.To sum up, the positives of this product are: ease of use once you know how, relatively inexpensive, worked well for my shed, and worked fairly quickly.The negatives, though not specific to this brand, are: having to leave the building while it’s working is a bit worrying, the chemicals used could be harmful to some creatures, and little information on instructions and how often to treat an area (to my knowledge).Overall, I’m pleased with this product and would recommend it for small rooms/sheds.

Initially I thought how could something so small do the job! I lit them and watched as they burned for about a minute, then thought they were faulty. But.. the smoke generated from them filled the room and lingered for hours. The room I used them was 60ft x 20ft so I one each end. I left them overnight to give the smoke chance to get everywhere. After opening windows for a few hours, smell had gone. No residual smell on fabric or home furnishings. I think it’s done the job I intended it for!! I would definitely buy again but hope I don’t have to!!

Did exactly it purpose - wasps in loft!!

We bought two packs(4). Wasps, cluster flies etc were the problem. Realising that maybe these were not sufficiently strong enough for wasps, we decided to give it a go anyway.Working on a first floor terrace, and up a two section ladder from this same terrace, with wasps buzzing me, I wanted these to work for sure. I set up safety netting and wore a harness with a companion holding the secured rope.I climbed up and placed the smoke device inside the terrace loft on a metal dish, after removing a wooden terrace ceiling strip.And retired quickly after lighting it with a match.I scrambled back down the ladder on to the terrace. And retired inside to view the result from behind a glass terrace door.The smoke arrived, and the activity of the wasps became manic. I departed for a coffee !Thirty minutes later everything was quiet. On further inspection I found the nest to be completely dead of activity. I smashed it with a long stick. Everything was dead inside.Job done thanks to these excellent fumigators. And I'm working now on preventing further entry of insects. But rest assured I'll use this make again if necessary. I recommend this product !

When these work properly, they work an absolute treat! They will literally destroy every living organism in the room. Unfortunately, out of six of these, only three have worked properly, the other three burning out before they have a chance to fog the room properly. On all six occasions I have followed the instructions to the letter, lit the touch paper and vacated the room. I will likely continue to buy these, however the inconsistency coupled with the high price is a sticking point for me.

I bought this product to get rid of a wasps nest in our garage. I was really impressed it did exactly what it said it would it completely cleared all the wasps !!! They were gone within 18 hours. Id thoroughly recommened 🙂
