Descriptive, honest review. How my 1st time went.
First time mensural cup user here. Here’s my Day 1 experience.First thoughts: everyone says it’s super soft and on the surface it is, but I thought it was pretty firm while I was squishing it if that makes sense. I did boil it just for a few minutes.I bought a size small (light-regular flow)I wanted to try it In my home until I got the hang of it so I waited until my first night of being on my period to wear it while I sleep.1st try inserting it I decided to use fold #2 because the other seemed big when I realized the I had to really stick my finger inside of my vagina to guide it in. (Side note: if you have long nails this could hurt a little but as long as you adjust your finger while inserting to be angled lower, and not in a stabbing position it helps. But it’s easier said than done. I’ve been able to do it)So as I’m inserting it in for the first time, I didn’t really put my fingers entirely inside of me, causing me to let go of the fold in the cup making it open right at the entrance of my vagina which F***n hurt.2nd try: this time I really put my fingers in me with the cup guiding it in: passed my first little knuckle of my index finger, almost to the second knuckle, while my other hand is holding my lips (Libia?) open. With my index finger slipping off, I push up with my other fingers so the cup can go higher and as it unfolded inside of me I heard a suction sound. Awesome! It does feel a little weird (if your an active tampon user, it feels like a fully expanded tampon inside of you) and the stem part was sticking out a good ways still (but I’ve read you shouldn’t cut it so I’m not. I ended up pushing it further inside of me as I laid down which didn’t hurt and kinda took away that full tampon feeling a little).I felt around the base after inserting it as much as I can since it does hurt to feel around inside of me with my nails. I thought it was good. Didn’t feel an indentation, So I laid down, woke up early to use the restroom and i definitely leaked out some blood. As I began the process to take it out, I reached for the stem, it was definitely deeper in me which I assumed was good to prevent leaking, so I lightly pulled the stem and used my vagina muscles to push it out. Once I got a good grip of the base of the stem, I pinched the base of the cup and started to wiggle it out. “Breaking the seal” kinda hurts. Because that whole suction effect, it sucks more before releasing. Well anyways I continued to pull out and saw I filled it up to the halfway mark so I’m not really sure why I leaked. I inserted it again, heard the suction inside of me, this time I did feel an indention and i wiggled it around and tried rotating a little until I didn’t feel it anymore. Laid back down, woke up, more leaking, pulling it out was a little harder than the first time, I was freaking out a little lol but I got it out. Filled it halfway again, poured it out and washed it with hand soap and that’s it for today. My first day I’m usually heavy but I only filled it up half way both times. Which looks like a lot still. The whole cleaning process, honestly I have no idea how I’m gonna do this in a public bathroom. It is pretty messy but I’m going to continue to try it because I’m DONE buying pads and tampons. I’m DONE creating so much pollution. So if I can’t solve this whole leaking situation, I’ll definitely invest in reusable cloth pads I’ve seen sold on amazon. They seem really cool and since I plan on continuing using this cup, they’ll pretty much just act as back up liners. I’ll try to remember to post again if I figure out any more helpful tips. In the end, as gross and uncomfortable as it may be, I’ll put myself through it to save on money and reduce my trash.*wanted to add this since after taking it out after my first night and using a regular tampon during the day, the inside of my vagina hurts and I can’t tell if it’s cramps or from the cup. Maybe it’s a little too big for me since I am a small person, 5’1” 110 lbs, but if you’ve ever had to pull out a tampon after inserting it and it’s still dry and you can feel rub against the walls of your uterus, THATS how I feel right now. It rubs against the walls and it does hurt a little and idk if this is normal or if it’ll get better in time or if I need to get an even smaller size! But it wouldn’t explain the leaking. Hope this review helps and I hope someone can confirm these feelings. Thanks!**later in day update: I feel better; that feeling only lasted for two-three hours. Gonna try it again tonight.*** update: I’m 6 months in of using this cup, it’s taken me this long and reading back to update everyone on it. The fingernail problem isn’t a problem anymore, the insertion isn’t bad. To make sure I don’t have the indentation I pull on it slightly and listen for it to suck in air and fully expand. The deeper, the more comfortable. I still struggled with leakage because of my blood clots (slimy bloody goo) works it’s way around the cup sometimes so I bought two cloth pads on Etsy for $3 each. I love them. The cup works great for the most part. I recommend you don’t leave it in for more than 10 hours. It’s a smell preference lol I’ve saved over 140 tampons/pads in the 6 months I’ve used the cup. And money! I like it. Trust me it gets easier I using it. I am considering on tying other cups hat to have something to compare it to. Like i said before, it is firm and I would like something a little softer but idk if that would effect the performance. That’s all I got for ya. Try it fo yourself girl. ✨

COMFORT
This is my 3rd time using the pixie cup and I LOVE them. I will never go back to tampons. Once you get the hand of putting it in and taking out- it’s the best thing ever!! It doesn’t leak either!

Zero leakage
I tried the small and large cups from the same company and they were not working. I couldn't understand what I was doing wrong. Then I remember about my tilted uterus. To my surprise they had a cup tailored to a tilted uterus! I ordered it and I have had zeroooo leakage! I'm beyond happy.

Period game changer
There are 2 cup sizes so you can choose which one to use during your flow. Made of a softer silicone and comfortable to wear. I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I have a hard time getting the cups to insert properly. Now that can be user error or just how my cervix is during my period but when inserted properly these are amazing and you can wear them for 12 hours with no leaks or smells or discomfort! But if they're are not properly sealed you will have leakage and it is frustrating if you can't get it to open properly every time. Definitely a learning curb but I think worth it for the amount of money and waste you save over time.

not soft
I finally tried the cup during my last period. I used to use Mermaid cup, bought from a company in Malaysia. It was soft and thus easy to insert and remove. However that cup was used for so many years and I decided to get a new one. This is supposed to be soft, but it isn't. I compared it against my old cup and it is significantly stiffer. I still decided to try it, feeling optimistic.Insertion was okay. I used the double diamond fold as I find more success with cups opening from this fold. The removal was painful. My softer cup would fold a little while coming out, so it doesn't stretch me much. This cup barely folded and came out almost fully opened and I was sore for the next 3 days. I'm not a fan of pain and this deterred me from using it again. I really wanted to like them. I love their cup steamer and wash.

Nice surprise
I fall into the category of having an oddly positioned cervix which makes finding a menstrual cup that works a challenge. This cup was just the right amount of soft and firm for me. I was even able to workout with it (including running). Normally I can still feel the other brand of cups which just makes my cycle even more frustrating. However this one I even forgot I was wearing it.

After using for a while
I haven't had any issues, no discomfort, no mess. Definitely recommend getting a second to swap when you need to clean it, also recommend the cleaning foam and the steamer to keep it nice and clean and ready to use.

Best Customer Service, great cup
Absolutely fantastic experience. I contacted them as I had received a different cup from what I ordered. We discussed sizing and they thought I would need a different cup from what I had received, and sent it to me for free. Cup works excellent, highly recommended!

The 2 pack comes in handy.
Great product, arrived quickly. I was concerned what size to get so this pack worked great. The larger one is definitely too big at this stage. The smaller one works great. I cut the stem to make the fit more comfortable.
