The Combat Application Tourniquet(TM) (C-A-T(TM)) is a compact binding system for temporarily stopping blood flow at the extremities. The individual size adjustment allows the tourniquet to be attached to all extremities. In addition, the C-A-T(TM) has a one-hand wind system, which uses a freely movable inner band to prevent the flow of arterial blood to an extremity. Once the bleeding is stopped, the toggle is fixed by means of Velcro with just one hand. This ensures safe transport of the patient.
