Excellent 1000 grit stone. Vitrified, cuts fast with excellent feedback!
I bought this Whetstone based on a few factors, including the fact it's stated this is made by Suehiro. I love Suehiro's CERAX lineup of stones, and I assumed from what I saw these were basically the same thing, just in a rebranded or otherwise similar format. So, being that I love whetstones and love trying out new ones, I purchased it... lets face it, the price is hard to beat and if it wasn't great, I am not out much...Fast forward to getting it and trying it out.1.) The packaging on this stone was top notch. For the price you would think "minimal and not very protected"... WRONG, LOTS of protection, and extras!2.) The stone is slightly smaller in size than the standard Cerax lineup, but that is no real big deal. It's still plenty large enough for chef knife sharpening, and hardly noticeable unless you are laying it side by side to other 8x3 stones.3.) This stone requires soaking for approximately 10 minutes, but that isn't that bad. Simply dunk it in your water bin, and start prepping your station for the amazing sharpening about to unfold!4.) The Nagura it comes with is a generous size, and it works wonders!5.) This thing cuts seriously fast and feels amazing! You can view a YouTube video on this stone by searching the term "Is the ALTSTONE Fukami Whetstone just a Suehiro Cerax". You will see the stone in action, the unboxing, and a cut test after it sharpens a knife!Long story short, SHOULD YOU BUY IT? ABSOLUTELY! I would not hesitate to buy another. These prices are hard to beat, and when you get quality like this, it's a no brainer. What a great stone from a great company!

Japanese Whetstone
I recently purchased the full grit series of these Japanese whetstones, including the 8000 grit super finishing stone, and I'm already impressed. The packaging alone is beautiful, reflecting the high quality of the product. While I haven't had a chance to fully test them out yet, the 8000 grit stone feels incredibly smooth and dense, promising a razor-sharp edge. The included Nagura stone is a nice bonus. I'm excited to put these whetstones to work and experience the precision sharpening they're known for. Stay tuned for an updated review once I've had a chance to use them! This review represents my personal opinion and experience with this product. Excellent
For many years i have been using a well reviewed 1000 grit stone. But this stone is MUCH better. Frankly, i see no need for the fancy fine grit stones. Buy this one and you will be good to go. I quickly got an excellent edge
