Can't go wrong with this.

Simple and effective.

This was kind of disappointing. It didn't quite match the terminology from Ohio's learning standards (based on Common Core). I purchased this book based on a 4th grade colleague's recommendation of the 4th grade edition. I used the results of my students' pretest which is available free online probably more than the actual book content. The activities were only mediocre.

This book is very resourceful for classroom use, but it did not contain the CD, as shown on the cover. I'm very disappointed to not receive the CD.My students enjoy the activities and I enjoy using it for the ease of quick minilessons for intervention before additional practice with small group readers.

I have purchased these books for my RTI program and have found them very helpful as a starting foundation for my classes. The skills are broken down very nicely. Of course, effective classroom instruction would require supplemental work and activities, but this does provide a good start. I found the online assessments very helpful as well. I am also impressed that when I called the company because a few pages were missing from the book (I think this might have happened in the store),they sent me a new book for free two days later. Keep up the good work!
