I got this book to improve my cartooning/book illustration and was not disappointed. If you only want to invest in one serious book on cartooning characters, then this is it!

I already had high expectation for this book, as this was recommended by good friends of mine who do character design and caricature. I also seen numerous videos of Stephen Silver through Proko so I knew what he had to offer could only be top quality. Pleasantly this book exceeded my expectactions by far. It is incredibly methodlogical and very concise. It has more image than text making it very easy to follow. The font size is large and legible. It is designed such manner that you can follow it either chronologically or flip directly to the pages and sections which you woud like to address. If you are autodidatic, and have the intiative of doing many excercises then this companion is for you!

Packed full of content. Well worth the money.

flicking through this book it looks really good to read but I’m kinda upset as I received it damaged , this was a result of no protection in the Parcel :,(

I love this book. It led me to become a member of the Silver Drawing Academy which is excellent, and worth every penny too.

Really helpful book. I'm only halfway through it and my drawing has improved. Very clear and informative. Wish I'd bought it sooner, rather than struggling for ages to get more life/movement into my drawings. I highly recommend it.

Excellent reference for the illustration student or anyone interested in creating original characters

This book is ESSENTIAL INFORMATION for any Artist/Designer! Written so simply and effectively that it feels like Stephen is just talking to you one on one about all of his years of experience and fine tuning his craft....I will no doubt be flicking through my copy until it falls apart from over use... and then I'll be sure to buy another :)~ Nick Crimmen@Crimmenal
