I took a trip to an extremely hot location. I wore this on hikes and while at the beach. The hat went through a lot and always maintained it's shape and function. It even stayed far, far cleaner than I'd have imaged. I'm buying another right after finishing this post.Holds up well after being in a suitcase.Has an appealing look.Can take a beating.Love the look and feel of it.Fit my head perfectly.A little pricey but that's all accounted for with this hat.

Hat is true to size, looks great, and breathes very well. The brim is wide enough to keep the sun off your face and neck but small enough to sit upright comfortably in most chairs. The hat flexes enough to be comfortable and so you don't have to worry about damaging it but not enough to be floppy.

Nice hat, breathes well, runs a bit large however a strip of terry cloth or micro fiber material under the band makes it comfy.

This hat can vary in size a bit, so it's more try and see if it's perfect or not. Some run a little large, others, a bit smaller. Not extremes, just manufacturing tolerances, to be expected in any mass produced product.But these are quality hats no doubt, and very comfortable to wear. They are not featherweight hats, if that is what you prefer, just average, good quality hats that follow form and function, and deliver what they say. I will not swear to the protection in sun use, since I have not used mine in such a situation, except for short periods of time. Extended wearers in sun should seek advice elsewhere, but from what I've read and see in the quality of the hat, I would be surprised if it did not function well in the sun too, as specified. They have adequate ventilation, with a large area for the crown (top space of the head) and a generous brim to shield off any high or low sun rays that are often bothersome, along with the ventilation that is needed for many days in warmer weather (of if you are hiking hard at times and need the ventilation along with sun ray shielding), that I find comforting when I am in the bright outdoors, either coming and going with the clouds, or when needed to view through my binoculars in bright conditions.I doubt you would be sorry, unless your head size is a mis-match for the size offered. Otherwise, some headband foam can go a long way to fitting a too large hat for your head size, if needed, so larger is better than smaller. That foam is included with the Henschel hat company order directly from them, at no charge, but not often with other retailers on Amazon, nor Amazon Prime.Funny though that Henschel shipped their hat squashed (as folded) but in a hat box, which lead to a permanent defect, while Amazon sent theirs in a plastic bag with a hat form fully formed (not squashed), and that survived better. So pick your choice, but I would recommend Amazon over Henschel, from my experience. Nice hat though, and I like the somewhat camouflage exterior of the distressed gold-green as they call it. A nice muted and woodsy color, for sure in the choices offered.

It took a lot of searching to find the perfect hat for me and I'm so glad I got this one! My old fishing hat was hot to wear in the scorching Texas sun and heat so this is a pleasant welcome addition to my summer gear! I love that the mesh goes all the way around my head so I get the ultimate cooling effect! It's wide brimmed which I love that style because it really helps keep the sun off of my face and neck. It arrived in a big box so it wasn't crushed or bent in any way. I really appreciated that! I was dreading having to reshape it if it arrived deformed. Shipping was fast too. Overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase and the quality of this hat! It seems very durable and I'm sure it will last a long time!

This hat is stiff, not flexible. The fit is, I'd say, 9 out of 10. Could have used more extra padding to fill certain spots on the headband area. Breathes very well. Looks nice. Would buy again.

I was headed to the Caribbean and I needed a wide brim hat that could be crammed in a suit case.This hat worked great! I've only worn it a week, it was a 7 day cruise, but my head was kept cool and I don't have a sunburnt face/ears/neck.My head measured 23.4 inches. The XL is (usually) supposed to be 23.5 inches and up, but it fits me well. In fact, I originally thought it was a bit snug so I ordered the XXL after receiving this one. The XXL is way too large and I am seeing if they will take it back. After about 1 or 2 hours on my head, the XL fits perfect. I did not use the foam padding to make the hat more snug either... So I say it fits somewhat small compared to the usual size ranges.The had is not floppy, which is a good thing. The brim pops back into place with no issue. The top you have to stand back up, but it holds it's form after that. I had it in my suitcase, no issue. I had it on the counter and the kids kept putting their stuff on top and crushing it, no issue. I had it in a mild drizzle at one point, the brim kept me dry. I have not had it in a real rain yet though.I did have to re-tie the leather chin strap. The knot came out and the bead slipped off. Slipped the bead back on, re-tied it, works perfectly. The strap does easily hold the hat on without being too tight. It takes very little pressure to keep it in place. I was worried about that from other hats I have owned.I love the Khaki color and am very happy with this purchase. If my return of the XXL hat goes poorly or if I have issues in the rain with this one I will update the review. I do recommend this hat, especially since it comes in bigger sizes that can be hard to find.

This is my husbands second one. The first one lasted for years, great for travel, folds nicely in the case, UV is perfect, light to wear. Colour is good too. A bit pricey but you have to pay for this make.

This is the third hat of this type 17 years ago, 4 years ago and in 2024. Lots of complements! They are all durable, fit great, look stylish and are an excellent purchase!

its vented at the top, which is a good idea, as hat is so well made its actually a little heavier than i prefer, so on a super hot day it can be a bit warm. however i have to say, it is so well made and a great price, i recommend !
