It was a nice theory and I was skeptical. I think all the reviews are coming from the guys who get to sample amazon product for writing reviews - which hardly seems fair to those of us buying product. While it does operate well and triggers, for my dogs it was in between modes to trigger well. One notch and it didn't really go off, then next notch up and it went off all the time. So I played around with it to use it only at bark periods trying to 'train' my guys that they would get the correction, but if quiet I'd have it down. It didn't matter. I gave it a few weeks because my one barker is very irritating. I saw little if any change in behavior. Maybe a little dog, but a golden retriever will do what they will do and bark is one of those things if they are inclined

Hi, I don't often do reviews, but I felt I really had to do one this time. I had previously purchased a device that was supposed to curb and halt barking completely. Well, it didn't work correctly right out of the box. I wasn't sure if it was operating, as the dogs sometimes showed that something was happening, and then maybe not? The description that came with the device, for sure, was not working as they had described it, so I returned it. I noticed this little device and the excellent reviews it had received and decided to take another stab at the problem. We have 2 dogs, one was immediately affected by the device. The other dog that is a little bigger, it's taking a bit more time. The only thing that I feel bad about, is when the other dog barks, it's not fair to the smaller one, because he has gotten the picture already I believe. I have the device set on #1 the lowest frequency. I am going to give it a couple more days and hopefully the larger dog will get it. I am truly impressed with the device though, as it definitely does what is says it does! My hubby is an RN and sleeps, or tries to sleep, during the day. Every little noise and especially deliveries, or someone coming to the door will set off a frenzy to say the least. This device is a "God Send" if it continues or nip the problem in the bud for us. Thanks for hopefully solving our frustrating problem.

The biggest problem with this is that the microphone clearly picks up on any and all ambient noise. As such, it goes off a lot. I could tell because my precious baby (a gentle, loving Pitbull) had her tail between her legs and stood at the door to go back inside the entire time she was out. Absolutely nothing was happening outside other than a little bit of wind and the sound of her walking on the deck. Oh, and this was at the lowest setting. I thought about placing it farther away but the same problem remained - the unit picks up on whatever noise is around. It could be going off when my girl is being good, punishing her for no reason.As someone with a graduate degree in psychology, I more than understand classical and operant conditioning. People need to think carefully about what they are teaching the dog to associate in its head (for example, going outside/being in a certain spot outside may be what the dog associates with the ultrasonic noise instead of barking). I have not purchased one of the remote control looking devices for exactly that reason. I do not want my girl to associate ME with the noise she hates.Overall, I caution dog owners to seriously and carefully consider what it is they are doing.

I was so happy for the first 2 weeks of having this. It worked perfectly and stopped all the constant whining from the pup on lowest level. It didn’t seem to bother my older dog at all. Problem is is it takes one D volt battery and only lasts good for about a week before it drains the battery and stops working so getting very expensive to use. Other than that it has worked beautifully. Once the pup realizes she doesn’t hear the noise anymore than she is back to whining so I always know exactly when it stops working. Would give 5 stars if it weren’t for the battery issue. I’d rather even have to plug it in than deal with this battery issue.

I have used this device to keep my neighbor's dog at bay. He still barks, but it will be farther away from my house/property. If he's closer to my house, he may bark once or yip. It does use batteries up fairly quickly (2-3 months?), but there are probably other noises that may set it off as well. Not sure but weather (cold or rain) may affect battery life too. Still, I have felt it to be worth it, versus not having it, as it has given me a modicum of peace in an otherwise hopeless situation.

They flat out have no impact! I live in a culdesac so my backyard connects with more than a few neighbors based on its shape. Problem is that several of them have large dogs that stay outdoors almost 24/7 and bark at everything from noises to lights. This goes on all day and throughout the evening. I bought two, hoping to place them near the two worse offenders. While they initially reacted to it on the first day, it did not prevent them from barking. I thought it might just take a few days for them to learn but after a week, they bark as much as the day I set them up. Soooo disappointed, as I was really hoping this would finally help me get a better nights sleep. I will be returning them.

Hello, this has been a great help to my neighbors dogs that bark all of the time. One down side is that it does use a lot of batteries but I guess that supports the noise that is constant at my neighbors house.

I was so excited to get this because every time someone knocks on the door, my two pugs bark like crazy. I was really hoping this would help train them to not bark but they didn’t even stop, notice or change any behavior with it. I tried different batteries but it didn’t make a difference. Waste of money, didn’t work for me.
