Does what it says on the box!
I have a bank of sealed lead acid batteries (Parallel pair) used for lighting and other 12V items in the garage and have been using a solar lighting kit from Maplin. The Maplin regulator does not care what your batteries are and seems to regulate below the stable voltage of the SLAs resulting in a slow destruction of the cells. I did some research and found this regulator which not only differentiates between types of battery, it is designed to charge them!I have fitted one of these regulators to two 12W solar panels and 2 7AH 12V SLA Batteries in one building and a second regulator to the garden shed which is covered in LED lighting, another 12W panel and a car battery (When no longer good on the car). Both setups are maintaining a good voltage in the cells in spite of the dim weather over Christmas and the SLAs (which had dropped to 11.6 volts before fitting this regulator) have a stable state >12.5V.I am using batteries removed from fire alarm panels during servicing so they are fairly aged, they are not at peak capacity and require more controlled charging to get a decent life from them. This regulator over a few dim months has restored a reasonable charge to several pairs of batteries already. The regulators are easy to use and setup and the addition of an on/off for the load output is a bonus. The instructions and information leaflet are adequate for the purpose. These were delivered quite quickly although two orders came by two different methods with the second taking slightly longer to arrive.Would recommend this regulator from this seller based on price, performace (Based on my limited testing) and delivery.

Great little solar controller for charging one battery.
Have this working with a 100W solar panel on my motorhome.Works really well - wire the battery in first so the controller knows it's working with a 12V or 24V battery and it will automatically adjust for the required voltage to provide. Then I connected the solar panel and it started providing 14V to the battery to start full charging. After around 30 minutes the battery was topped up and it dropped into 'float' mode to just trickle charge the battery. The LED colour and flashing shows the battery/charge state and although simple compared to a full LCD display provides enough info to know what's happening. The Load connection can be wired into any 12V accessories (I have it wired to a car USB socket) so that excess solar power can be diverted to charge/power alternative devices. If it gets dark I assume this either shuts off or takes power from the battery, but it's nice to have another way of taking power if the battery is fully charged.Overall really pleased with the controller.

Total satisfaction
I order this charge control in addition to a 100W panel a month ago, with the plan to mounted it on the roof of a shed where it would charge a liesure battery I use to power a (farm) electric fence energiser. In the past I had to take the liesure battery home (having replaced it with a "spare" back-up battery) and charge in via the house electric mains once every week or so. Since connecting the solar panel, via this 10 amp charge controller three weeks ago, I have not had to take it home once! The installation instruction are very easy to follow however I did have one question which the Photonics Universe help desk/technical support quickly answered. In addition I connected a voltage meter/display showing the battery's charge as a percentage. Each morning the battery is down to 70-80%, but by the end odd the day it is back to 100%!I cannot recommend a panel and this panel charge control highly enough.

Basic but decent controller.
On it's own this is a well made, but basic controller. Where it really comes in to its own is the fact it can be controller by an MT50 remote meter. Means you get a really feature rich controller setup for approx £50.If you just want a simple setup for a 100w 12v panel, this is a really good deal and a great choice.

Simply and easily manages a panel + car battery combination.
Easy to setup, flexible about voltages and the various LEDs provide all you need to know. I have it in a shed to power my garden watering system and it does the job of managing the battery perfectly. For a true 5* experience it would have a serial port or similar to that I could ask it for battery charge and solar panel output but that is probably more than I could really hope for at this price point.

Does the job very well.
Bought this to use with a solar panel, sealed battery and fan I have rigged up to feed a heat sink in my greenhouse. Works very well and it's been noticeable in the recent gloomy weather how it will cut the fan when the battery level goes too low, allowing what little sunlight we've seen to get back into the battery instead. The instructions were well written and clear, and the unit worked immediately it had been hooked up as directed. Once set up correctly it's pretty much leave it alone to do its thing. This will really come into its own this winter when the heat sink will help to keep the internal temp in the greenhouse above freezing, and the battery will need to soak up any winter sun to store the heat.

Working well
Bought as a ‘must have’ for 120w solar panel system installed in my touring caravan. Very easy to install and appears to be doing its job well. It is quite a simple unit and the led lights only give an indication that it is operating so I have added a plug in remote meter to provide a little more detail of battery state. Happy with my purchase and the price.

So Far -So Good
I have only just installed this regulator, but it appears to be coping with output from a 45 watt folding solar panel on my boat.
