Does the job great with all the little gimmicks you get with modern internals. Airation has a strong current with tons of oxygen put into the tank. The waterfall bar is great also and all comes apart for preference, need and cleaning.Pump is strong with a high flow, circling the current from 1 side back to itself and because of that little activated carbon canister beats out almost all over internal filters under the £20 price range easily imo. I added a cut of fine sponge into the activated carbon box and it leaves the water crystal clear.The thing is tiny also. My only 2 gripes are 1. Cable vibration can be loud and you need to jiggle the stuff behind your tank to stop it.2. the 2 bottom sections. One is for the impella cap and flow rate while the other is for the filtration media. The top one for the flow rate broke one side of the seals. This hasn't affected how clear it keeps the water but things do cling to that side as you can see in the picture. But maybe this was me because the thing is hard to pull apart. Except getting it apart it's easy as anything to clean and replace the activated carbon.100% worth the money for a medium size 80l tank. I've added another filter to this tank due to fry being spawned but that's me being safe for bio load otherwise this filter would of been fine as is.

For the money, this is an absolutely amazing filter! As you can see in the pictures, it does the job of keeping our 4' Rena tank absolutely crystal clear!We have it set up with the spray-bar attached to diffuse the output because it certainly is a beast and the flow is very powerful.It is extremely effective in its job and is pretty low maintenance. I particularly like the fact that there are two cartridge which means that they can be cleaned alternately, thus maintaining bacteria levels. The black coloration makes it nearly invisible which is great to (not) see. This filter has been running for about a month in the big tank and I can testify to it being totally silent apart from when it's been serviced, in which case, it takes a few moments to expel the last few air bubbles.It's height and slim form factor make this ideal for our tank as it draws in water from all depths very effectively whilst not taking up any noticeable space. The two cartridges also mean that one can be used with the supplied sponge and the other housing biomedia, barley straw or any other equipment as desired.So, why did it not get 5 stars?1) There is no flow adjuster on it. This isn't an issue for us as it's power perfectly matches our requirements with the spray bar attached but it WOULD have been a nice addition.2) Its a pain to disassemble! Once again, taking the filter apart isn't something we plan to do very often but when we do, it's achore! The canisters are attached to each other and to the motor in a most inconvenient way which requires a certain knack and considerable pressure on the tabs on order to remove the units. However, once removed, maintenance is pretty straightforward.The above issues aside, for the price, this filter simply can't be beaten. It's a no-frills product but in the aquatic world, more features equate with more things to malfunction so it's a case of less is better. If you are hunting for a reliable workhorse that does it's job brilliantly and are on a budget, look no further!Update:I have also bought the 500l/h version:The 500 is a completely different beast!!!It's very efficient as to be expected but really excels in ease of maintenance. It's soooooo easy to dismantle for cleaning and servicing. The sponge housing comes off by a simple twist as do the separate compartments. The sponges are designed for maximum surface area and are really low maintenance. The clear plastic allows one to see when it does need cleaning and also makes the whole thing very unobtrusive.. It comes with a variety of outlets including a venturi and a direction adjuster so you can tweak the oxygen and direction of flow.Absolutely fantastic!!!

The media could not be loaded. Love this filter, is very very powerful. I like the fountain detail. Value for money is great and it’s very sturdy. My only issue here is when you want to open it up to give it a deep clean, it’s hard to separate the compartments.

This is great, my fish seem very happy . The only problem I had was taking the filter apart as it was very tight and the instructions weren't very clear as I was left with a bit that I haven't a clue where it goes, but overall worth every penny.

Don’t normally leave reviews however…I bought this product in replacement for my filter that failed ( other brand)I can honestly say money well spent.Plugged in & within hours water started to clear, low noise & would totally recommend.

There is no air flow valve on the filter so no way of slowing the speed down even after countering the airflow from the venturi pipe. I have a 240l large tank currently using a fluval external filter. The IF1500 could be used in a lake never mind tank. It blew several plants out of the substrate. I contacted the seller and received no help other than "no it does not have a air flow valve" and this filter is for a tank, and I quote, "meagre stock of fish". Seriously. Can't return as its been used, literally dumping in the bin. Total waste of money and shockingly bad advertising. And to think adding a flow value would cost .50p to manufacture.

Fantastic little filter, brought to help clean suspended debris from a larger aquarium that the included filter wasn't dealing with. Changed out the sponge for filter floss and it's running great. Loads of accessories with it too to adapt to what ever you need it for, even included a little spray bar. Can't speak for longevity as only had it running a month but well worth the money so far.

Alles perfekt! Starke Strömung bei angekündigten 2500l/h. Wenn jemand wie ich in Europa kauft, wäre ein Adapter von UK auf EU schön. Ist nicht dabei. Also Leitung aufgeschnitten und Euro ran gebastelt von alten Gräten. Super! Werde morgen ins Becken schauen, ob es klar und gut belüftet ist. Habe den Luftschlauch installiert.Frage Lautstärke: sehr leise.

Me ha gustado mucho, ya es el segundo o tercero de ésta marca. No lo he podido emplear, porque generaba demasiada corriente para el proyecto que tenía. Pero un gran caudal y buena potencia.
