Its's well worth fitting one of these in your shower!
I had wanted a light in my shower ceiling for years but was always worried about the steam and electricity. This fitting has a sealed glass cover and the bezel has a rubber washer so its perfestly safe.At £5 for the fittinga nd another £5 fopr the bulb it is also a very cheap home improvement that will add value and "saleability" to yoru home when the time comes.Having just fitted mine I can confirm that it does not get at all hot and does not have a transformer.I did, as a precaution, put a Persil washing "Bio Capsules" container over the light fitting in the loft. I cut a vent slot in the top and at the top of the two sides. I figured it would stop the insulation getting in the fitting and onto the glass as well as stopping it.Installation is as follows:1) Mark the position you would like the light on your ceiling and bang a nail in the ceiling at the centre.remove the nail and check in the loftspace that the light fitting will not clash with any truss joists or other timbers etc.2) Mark the hole with a pencil by using a compass.3) Cut the hole in the ceiling. I used a jigsaw blade (without the jigsaw) to carefully cut out the plasterboard disc.4) Connect up a length of cable (2metres ish) to the new light fitting and prepare the other end for connection to the power supply source. (I used the main bathroom light fitting.)5) TURN THE POWER SUPPLY OFF6) Go into the loft and dangle the light fitting bulb holder through your newly cut hole in the ceiling and connect the other end to your pwer supply.7) In the bathroom, fit the LED bulb in the fitting and then fit the bulb in the light fitting bezel.8) Push the whole assembly onot the ceiling hole and your are done.9) Turn the power back on and check it works.10) Be careful not to look directly at the LED bulb as it is very bright! In all the whole "job" only took me around an hour.

just a keen DIY'er but I love these spots
I'm no electrician, just a keen DIY'er but I love these spots. I bought the 4 pack for use in my bathroom. When I moved into the house there were already 4 up but ran on transformers and were unreliable, these are the perfect replacement. The spots were easy to wire up (I did already had the cabling in place though) They are just like wiring a plug. The units come apart easily so I went in the loft and wired the 4 holders up then came down and done the rest from the bathroom. They fit my existing holes well and thanks to the good springs on them they stay in firmly.I bought some LED lamps from B&Q (look for GU10) to put in them and they look as good as the 50watt halogen in the old ones but only use 4.8 watts. They've coped well so far (4 months) in the damp of the bathroom and are still as shiny as the day I fitted them!If your replacing existing spots and don't mind ladders I'd say there very easy to replace, if you don't have any wiring you may need an electrician to install.

Not easy to install but good product
Great and exactly what I was looking for. I cannot say they were easy to install though as I had to hire a professional to install them due to struggling myself which sort of cancelled out the value for money element on these (which is why I bought these in the first place). All in all the lights are good and I am happy with them. Just wish the company would have put more thought into considering assembly.

Sturdy , quality light fittings , bargain time !
Excellent product , unlike others the lamp sits nice and low to the glass of the fitting giving plenty light source … extremely easy to change lamps as the body is held in the ceiling whilst the cover is pulled out in one simple pull down .. no awkward twisting or stuck cam system … just what I was looking for !! Will be buying literally hundreds more in the future … PERFECT !!
