I really like this turnstile cake display! It is intended for a 1-layer or a short 2-layer cake. I say “short” because my two-layer cakes are usually very fluffy because I beat the batter a lot, giving the cake a lot of air, and making it taller. When I set the acrylic cake-cover over the cake I made, the inside of the cake cover, (at the very tippy-top), touched the top of my cake; it touched a very part of the frosting in the center of the cake. It did not bother me since it touched such a small area. When it was time to present the cake, I touched up this area with a little bit of frosting. Once the cake was cut, the lid did not touch the cake. This issue might bother some people, understandably, if cake making is a profession. It is not my profession, but I hope the makers of this product consider making the lid slightly taller in the center so as not to spoil perfectly layered frosting or a design.

For small cakes only, but a FANTASTIC item!!
Only 10" in diameter compared to its larger cousin, the standard 12" cake plate. But if this size works for you, you will LOVE this!! I thought the swiveling wooden base worked perfectly and looked great on my hardwood table, and believe me, the strong but lightweight acrylic plastic top was especially nice for me after my heavy glass cake lid broke so easily. For for extremely light weight, great looks, and useful function, this tray/stand can't be beat.

Cute and functional
Very cute. I like the plastic cover rather than glass especially after my 3 year old grandson helped himself to a chocolate chip cookie and lifted the lid,...it didn't fall but I was happy it wasn't glass just in case
