Herbal Preserve
Product arrived on time. Quality was good. Fruit inside was large equal to two portions with stone(seed). Arrived in plastic container and preserved with a sealed bag inside. I used my own glass jar with lid to preserve and easy use. I used it with warm glass of milk at bed time. It is a good herbal remedy for improvement of immune system and stops grey hairs without any side effects. People with diabetes or any other conditions should consult with their medical professionals if using this product on regular basis (as fruit is preserved using sugar).

Poorly presented but with a decent taste
These are an acquired taste in our household and a bit divisive, with the combination of tartness and sweetness appealing to half of us but not the others- though this would be true for fresh gooseberries too. The ‘sweet syrup’ is not as sweet as some, and not the dessert syrup that that might imply, and if you’re used to tinned fruit cocktails in sweet syrup, you might wonder how this got described as ‘sweet’. However when paired with a good vanilla ice cream or mixed with some other tinned fruit, you get something reasonably palatable, even if it does still feel more ‘healthy’ than ‘tasty’ overall. It still wouldn’t be the first thing I’d pick off a dessert menu, that’s for sure, but these will get eaten, and appreciated if not enjoyed. The presentation doesn’t add to the appeal, and the plastic bag lumped inside an ugly plastic container looks and feels very cheap- as does the labelling, and its slightly cheeky attempts to make some basic statements look like award-winning badges which they aren’t.Despite the budget presentation, these gooseberries are currently priced at a tenner for a kilogram- but in my local shop I can get Princes gooseberries in syrup, 300g for one quid sixty, which works out at less than half the price by weight, albeit without delivery. But while the gooseberries here are chunkier, and the taste is different enough to be discernible, this plastic kilo pot of gooseberries doesn’t do enough to justify that extra price tag.The flavour’s quite pleasant (if you’re predisposed to it) so I’m going to give these four stars, even though the value and presentation’s a bit poor.
