An Informative Must Read for Everyone
Make Healthcare Great Again is incredibly interesting and informative. I realize what the author says is true. They should make this book required reading of everyone in healthcare. I am in healthcare and learned from reading this book. The author breaks topic by topic down separately in different chapters making it a great reference to refer to anytime you have a question about something specific. He even adds a glossary that I believe many will find helpful. Make Healthcare Great Again is a well-written, researched and referenced book. It will change the way I practice, and I will recommend it to my patients to read. Everyone should get a copy for their home. Definite 5 stars!!

A Prescription for Change
Can the bureaucratic, dysfunctional nightmare that is the American healthcare system possibly be fixed? Edward Shaheen, MD, an ER physician for 30 years, thinks so and offers some promising if ambitious solutions in "Make Healthcare Great Again." Shaheen explains that as recently as 20 years ago, customers did not face bewildering co-pays, co-insurances, deductibles, and bureaucratic runaround for major procedures, let alone routine visits to a primary care physician. He shows how insurance companies, private equity-owned health systems, and ER-outsourced "contract management groups" have hijacked healthcare and made it prohibitively expensive, dysfunctional, and downright dangerous to the consumer. He prescribes a "patient-obsessed" approach that incentivizes health care systems, doctors, and employers to emphasize preventative medicine and make healthcare both affordable and great again,. Can it happen? We can only hope.
