Complete Nightmare
I bought the Geeetech silk black filament to tinker with and learn the ins and outs of 3D printing on. After several printing attempts now,I feel I have enough experience with this filament to provide a reasonably fair and accurate review. I just got my first 3D printer about a week ago,so perhaps my experience is an anomaly. First, the good things about the filament. It sticks to the bed VERY well once you get the bed and nozzle temps right. It also looks pretty good color and shine-wise. The price is also ok.Unfortunately, nearly everything from there is downhill. It sticks TOO well to a PEI bed. As in,you'll never get it off. I discovered this with my first print using this filament. My bed was leveled and the temps were in the normal range of 200 nozzle/60 bed. My first test print the day before using the filament included with the Ender 3 came out BEAUTIFULLY,like textbook perfect print. This is how I know that my bed was level,my nozzle wasn't clogged, and my temperatures were not set at weird crazy levels.I printed a small object just to test the filament out and tinker with the machine. The first layer went down beautifully. Ok,I thought,we're off to the races. After that, none of the layers seemed to want to stick to each other. I let the print run, figuring that it was a one-off and I'd do a post-mortem and dial in my settings later. After trying in vain to free my first print using the Geeetech filament and gouging my bed up,I figured out that if you heat the bed to 80 degrees, you can scrape the print off, leaving copious amounts of residue behind.Whatever,I figured. I am new to 3D printing,I probably didn't know what I was doing,so I tried again after slicing my object to run at a higher nozzle and bed temp and running the machine about 20% slower. It was better, but the layers delaminated again, halfway through and then my nozzle clogged partway into the print,so I had to stop it,and again gouge this filament off my bed at 80 degrees, again leaving copious amounts of residue behind. This time I decided to try to print a completely different object, running the settings from the ground up to be compatible with what I thought I had discovered about this filament. Again, layer delamination, clogged nozzle, and residue on my bed. Then I leveled my bed again at 80 degrees and tried again with a bigger version of the same object and got the same exact issues. Now my PEI bed is basically ruined and I'm also having nozzle issues and I don't have one successful print to show for it. Maybe I'm still doing something wrong, but I don't think so.I personally would not buy this filament again. If there is some secret combination of settings or hardware that makes this filament print perfectly and then come off the bed easily,I don't think the plastic itself is good enough to spend the time and money on beds and nozzles to figure out what it is.

Adrquate
Needs 220 hot end and 70 on bed for first few layers or poor adhesion experienced on ender 3 pro with magnetic black bed.Unfortunately the printer has been returned due to cooling fan and extruder gear issues.

Excellent white PLA
Currently my favourite white PLA. Consistently good results over the couple of years or so of purchasing, with somewhat of a satin like finish, no stringing or adhesion problems on creality beds or a craftbot kapton bed with dilute PVA wash. Doesn't seem fussy about temperature, printing currently at 195 but have used 205 or higher as well.

At this price point you can't go wrong..
Weight upon delivery: 1.15kg total (spool and filament)3D printers usedEnder 3 Pro heavily modifiedEnder 3 V2 heavily modifiedCreality CR10 Smart basic modifiedFirst out of the box print Impressions:First print was a vase, a keyring and a 3D sloth. Settings used were 215C for my Nozzle and 70C for first layer then 60C for the bed using a combination of mirror and glass. The first layer adhered well to the the various bed configuration, no glue's needed this was my own personal experience based on my own Gcode and slicer setup. At 60mm/s speed there were no major problems with adhesion. As with all the the prints my setups only had a small brim no support for the large overhangs. The PLA performed well with these. There are very few surface blemishes which I would expect from probably my esteps rather than this PLA.Active Print Impressions:The colour i chose was black and at 1.75 random checks showed very minor variations and the colour appears to be consistent throughout the entire roll. But until I use up the whole roll up I won't be able to confirm that, however. After the print had finished i had no issues removing the items from the various bed surfaces, I was rather pleased with my finished product, I've only been printing since December 2021 and no professional by any standards, The print settings could be tinkered with if I'm honest, as there was a little stringing visible at some areas but again I wouldn't blame the PLA. I was impressed as this is the first print without any post-processing needed to make it look presentable. Also I have experienced any issues with clogging, snapping or the feedOverall I would say at this price point this is a very good filament for those beginning to 3D print. The only changes I had to make to my print were the minimal at best and my overall impression is that a lot of effort has gone in to the product to be able to produce a good quality item at such a cheap price, that much so that I have now bought the Glow in the dark blue and the silk black to try, based on that It just worked, and prints come out as good as some much more expensive PLAs.

A suitably smooth silk filament.
I decided to do something a little different last Christmas, and printed a tree in this blue filament instead of the conventional green.I found this filament very easy to print with, not having to make any adjustments to my print settings. The finish is very smooth, and while it's not the shiniest filament you'll ever find, it reflects light well enough to give the model a shiny effect.
