fast, stable, openwrt
First, in its default software, it is fast and stable, but the UI is terrible and lacks features. Fortunately, it is relatively easy to install OpenWrt software which is more secure and better maintained. With OpenWrt it is still fast and stable, and now many more features available with far more frequent security updates.

Good range and performance, requires proper PoE+ power
Purchased it to replace an old AP and it made a difference in coverage, updated to the latest F/W and its very stable. I have it installed in the ceiling of a 2 story home and coverage extends all the way into the garage. I purchased the POE injector that Amazon lists as recommended (BV-Tech Gigabit Power Over Ethernet ) as my old switch didn't supply POE, however this AP reported the PoE power was not at the required 802.3at level, so I upgraded the the switch to a Netgear GS108LP that provides PoE on all ports and and now the the AP powers up normally.

Never buying NetGear again.
I purchased three different NetGear POE+ access points and have returned all three. All had the same issue. Signals vanishing. Even when I tested channels to find the ones with no or minimal competition, these still failed to be stable. This model seemed promising, after I called tech support and got it working right (the 5Ghz channel kept vanishing). It's been installed one week and constantly loses BOTH the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz signals. My 3 year old router doesn't do that. The only reason I purchased this unit was to extend my wifi to parts of the house it didn't previously reach. Rather than having 3 separate wifi signals, I used this single unit that did cover my whole home (when it worked that is). But, even 4 feet away, the signals poof from existence. Continuously. These devices either lack serious quality control, or they are complete garbage. At any rate, it's no longer my problem and I opted to buy a TRUE enterprise grade product.

Get it up and running in just a few minutes

It also comes with a comprehensive user manual, which is helpful if you have any questions. The WAX220 provides excellent WiFi coverage and performance. I have a large home with multiple floors and the WAX220 covers the entire house without any problems. I've been able to stream 4K video and play online games without any lag or buffering.Overall, I'm very happy with the NETGEAR WAX220 wireless access point. It's a great value for the money and offers excellent performance. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a new wireless access point.

Per NetGear are END OF LIFE... But NetGear support silent on if firmware updates will be continued
Easy to configure and work fine. However, per NetGear they are END OF LIFE. Once registered at NetGear website, they are warrantied for 3 years... but if they are END OF LIFE... does that mean no more firmware updates? The latest firmware is fairly recent. Fired off an email to NetGear support... NOTHING replied. Really on the fence now, if I should return these. Not being manufactured... EOL is one thing, but not supported EOL is another.

Works well
Using for home AP as I have a separate firewall / router setup this AP provides great signal throughout my home. The design is great and my wife has indicated that she does not notice it mounted on the ceiling! Set up was easy and straight forward. Did not have to contact tech support.

Easy set up
Easy to set up and install to ceiling and works fast, as described. Only negative for me was that the mounting bracket doesn’t appear to fit snug to the ceiling, there is airspace that doesn’t allow for as clean of a fit as I hoped for. But that is minor compared to its performance.

Devices would disconnect and reconnect
Certain devices, especially my S23 Ultra, would disconnect from this WAP. Yes I had the latest firmware. I know it's not my device as it doesn't do it at work where I have a different WAP. And I didn't do it on the WAP I had before this one, and the brand I bought to replace this one also didn't have the issue, so Netgear needs to increase their signal reliability.
