Quality kickstand ready to support heavier bikes!
Did not buy it from Amazon but still want to let everyone know it's great. For the last 10 months I've been using this Atran Velo chainstay stand for 24-28" bikes that barely, barely is long enough to support my 25 Kg 29" e-MTB with 35 cm high chainstay. But it's not a perfect match since the bike leans quite a bit. Still it's a very well constructed kickstand which can support a 25 Kg bike, with no rattling and a large mount that will fit onto a chainstay tube up to 3.0 cm high and 2.5 cm wide.I threw away the included hard-plastic padding meant to sit in the mount and cut a piece of thin anti-slip rubber mat to use as padding. It's soft enough to adapt to the shape of the oval chainstay, but tough enough to not let the chainstay get scratched.Since my e-bike is heavy and leans quite a bit when it is supported by the kickstand, the stress on the mount makes it loosen enough to give some play after a few months. Easily resolved by tightening screws every few months. Loctite may further resolve it. Lighter and lower bikes would barely care about this.Weight is 318 grams. Heavier than other stands but also much more rigid.Length of kickstand from edge of mount hole to the foot is 33 cm in the longest setting. When the kickstand is attached to a level bike and points diagonally towards the ground, the vertical height of the kickstand from the edge of the mount hole to the horizontal level of the foot is 28 cm in the longest setting. Meaning a 28 cm high chainstay would have the foot right on the ground without leaning the bike. This can be shortened to 24 cm at the minimum. My e-MTB has the chainstay 34,5 cm off the ground. With kickstand down and the bike level, there is about 6 cm between the foot and the ground. Leaning down on the kickstand places the bike at about a 15-20 degree angle.I also tried the kickstand with the red or blue sticker on the leg that appears under many different brands (CHUER, ADEPTNA, TOPCABIN). It works well for a 26" mtb and probably for a 27,5" but not for a 29". It's not as rigid as the Atran Velo though.Didn't know it would be that hard to find a chainstay-mounted kickstand long enough to keep a 29" balanced.
