☀️ Dive into Solar Savings!
The Steinbach Compact Solar Panel is a high-efficiency solar heating solution designed for above-ground pools up to 20,000 liters. Measuring 600 x 70 cm and weighing just 10 kg, this durable polyethylene panel connects easily to your existing filter system, allowing for a water flow rate of at least 2,000 l/h. Ideal for both fresh and saltwater pools, it can be expanded by linking multiple panels for enhanced heating performance.

Very effective but you do have to set it up properly
This is our pools set-up which we hyave used for the last three summers.....3.66m x 1.2m round frame pool.Steinbach Speed Clean Comfort 50 pump and filter.2 x two of these units on a wood frame on garage roofWith this configuration, the pump circulates aprox 6.5 cubic meters of water per hour. However, even at this high rate of flow the water coming INTO the pool is typically +1.0 degree warmer than the water going out. Obviously this varies depending on the weather, +0.4-1.0 degress on a light cloudy day but as much as +2.0 on a very hot and sunny day.I know these changes may not sound much, but over the course of 3 x 8 hours days our pool went from its fill temperature of 19 degrees, upto evening telperature on the third day of 28 degrees. Not bad for free heat.I have noticed that the negative reviews tend to have something in common..... leaks. When I first got the panels I also suffered from water leaks and from air being drawn into the system. However, I have totally cured both problems by doing two simple things.1) smear a litght coating of petroleum jelly onto the o-rings on the male connectors. This stops the o-rings from riding up out of their grove when you insert the male connector into the female connector.2) fix the top and bottom rails to a straight piece of wood (I use cable ties). This prevents the rails from bending which in turn cause leaks.By doing these two simple things not only meant I could put the panels on our garage roof (2m higher than the level of the pool water) while having no water leaks, but when the pump is turned off I had no air being drawn back into the system. We now have a pool that is cheap to run, is fun to use and which we can get in straight away. No more inch by inch submerging as you try to adapt to the cold water. Up the ladder and in.

Good for a small pool or if you live in sunnier climes
Good idea and much cheaper than building your own. However, you need a good sunny day to get good heat from it. Needs lots of investment in managing flow and insulating target (ie the pool) to make it worth while for a larger application. If you have 4 or 5 cold days as we did this summer, the game is up in maintaining heat in a pool.I put four of these together and got temps hot enough to scold if water left for 10 mins and then pumped for 5mins on a hot day. I was trying to heat a large 24x12ft above ground pool which might be ambitious. I did well in July when temps were good for weeks and kids loved it, but the poor weather in August meant I got no heat input at all and pool lies unused.Whatever the outcome, it was good fun to apply theories of solar heating and save money on electric bill at same time!

Poor quality fastenings snap off.
Good in theory but the connections are terrible, small plastic lugs secure the fittings and they snap off too easily. The manufacturers do not help, so after less than 2 years use our 10 panels are now reduced to four. I would NOT buy these again.
