Sharkskin Chillproof Water Sports Head Cover Breathable, buoyancy neutral and almost as warm as 3 mm neoprene. Comfortable to wear thanks to soft inner fleece. Sharkskin Chillproof is a waterproof, wind-proof 3-layer composite material with the thermal properties of a wetsuit from 2.5 to 3 mm developed for water sports athletes. The inner comfortable hollowfibre fleece lies directly against the skin and wicks moisture and sweat away from the body. The second middle layer is 100% windproof yet breathes to regulate body temperature while still stopping wind permeability. The third outer layer is a nylon/lycra blend, very abrasion resistant with a 4-way stretch. It is also UV resistant sun protection and features a durable water repellent outer shell. Excellent, but the sizes are much smaller than a few years ago.
My wife needed a replacement for her 2x small hood that was stolen. We ordered a 2xs (discontinued size) and it was much too tight. We settled on a size small hood which fits better than the previous hood and has front and back extensions below the neck which improve thermal protection under a childproof top.

Excellent product. Very supple and comfortable, without the stress associated with thicker hoods I have worn. I wore it in 58 degree water but at depth so possibly closer to 50 degrees.

Great Hood.
This is a great lightweight hood to take chill off during multiple warm water dives. My wife also likes it to help control her hair. The length of neck is long enough so it does not untuck like the lavacore hood does. Does not feel restrictive at all. The only negative is that it doesn’t have a vent to release trapped air on top of hood, which the lavacore hood does have. I didn’t have a problem with trapped air but my wife sometimes did. Overall very happy with it.

Warm in the cold!
Absolutely wonderful piece of scuba gear. Makes a huge improvement to heat efficiency when doing some deeper dives.A friend wanted to try it out as she gets cold quite easily, and even though it was a good 2/3 sizes too large she still felt it made a huge improvement.The fact that it is neutrally buoyant is just an added bonus!I have merged this with the full shark-skin suit to keep me warm!It's a little bit on the pricey side for a hood but well worth it.
