Yummy
I had never liked the taste of black licorice, but had been reading about the health benefits of real licorice so decided to give this brand a try - I love Australian red licorice. I am happy to say that for the first time in my life, I'm diggin' the taste of black licorice, and my husband also enjoyed eating this moist, chewy brand. The flavor is not too intense, and there's enough tooth to the product to satisfy.

THIS IS THE GOOD STUFF!
THIS LICORICE IS HEAD AND SHOULDERS BETTER THAN THE LARGER QUANTITY VARIETY AVAILABLE. THIS ONE HAS AND ALMOST GUMMY TEXTRURE WHILE THE OTHERS ARE MUCH MORE SOLID. I PREFER THE GUMMY. YES IT IS MORE EXPENSIVE BUT ITS WORTH IT.

Soft, strong smelling and tasting licorice
UPDATE: I've come to the conclusion that I don't like this licorice. I've got three different ones at the moment, and I avoid eating this one. The other two are Finnska and RJ's, both of which are better IMO. I don't like the softness/texture nor the overpowering taste of the Kookaburra. I'll never buy it again.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I bought this product based on other reviews that ranked it pretty high. I recently discovered RJ's black licorice and found it to be unlike other licorices I've had, in a good way. It was somewhat unusual in texture and taste, and I really liked it, which caused me to want to try other brands. Kookaburra is very soft and has a very strong licorice smell and taste. It's good but I like others better, including RJ's. It's not good enough for me to buy it again and it is expensive in comparison to others out there. I got to thinking that it really doesn't make any difference what I or others think of this product. What matters is what you think. I obviously don't like it as much as other reviewers. You might like it more or less than I do but you'll never know until you try it.

Very good, but...
Okay, so these are apparently the original "Australian Liquorice" and has been around the longest right? Wallaby's is better in my opinion. Don't get me wrong These are very good, but Wallaby's has a slight edge. Wallaby's texture is firmer and smoother. It's licorice taste is bolder and I think they are just slightly less sweet. I'd happily eat these again if they're bought for me, but I will stick to Wallaby's if I have my choice.

My favorite!
This is the black licorice by which I judge all others! Soft and chewy, or let it melt in your mouth. Powerful enough taste that you can make 2-3 pieces last awhile. We can't get this where we live in Mexico, so I have friends bring me some when they visit from elsewhere... it's worth the bother!

Do not purchase this before you have a chance to try it.
The flavor was very poor. Would not purchase this product again. I cannot in good conscience recommend this to anyone.
