Gwenpool, the Unbelievable Vol. 1: Believe It (The Unbelievable Gwenpool) Paperback – 22 Nov. 2016

I'm an old guy in my mid-sixties. I've been reading DC and Marvel since I was able to read at all. And frankly I regard this (entire series, not just Vol 1) as THE most fun and clever graphic novel I've read in my life. The only thing that mars it is that one of the artists later in the story is... um... not so much too-Manga as just... not-too-good.And I think Marvel are ending the series, which is both unspeakably sad and unspeakably stupid. Gwenpool is one of the best things they've done. Ever.I wouldn't want to offend you (or who knows? Maybe I would - I'm a grumpy old man, after all), but if you don't like this series, there's probably something wrong with you, and you're either not a real fan, or you may have a psychiatric illness or brain disease. Or you're living in some universe that's even stupider than the one I'm stuck in.Look, just buy it, OK?

Completely blew my mind wasn't expecting a Deadpoolish type character with no powers to be written so we'll 10 outta 10 ✊

I’d never heard of Gwenpool, but I like the idea behind Deadpool and it was only £5 so I gave it a try .. great fun, good artwork, very pleased.

Great humour throughout with lots of fun action scenes in it. I absolutely love all of the artwork thought it was great!

Fan of Deadpool, doesn’t matter ‘cause she ain’t. Like simple smash and grab, well then nope not for you. Otherwise enjoy. 😀

It's rare to read a new comic from both DC or marvel that doesn't require you to have an experts perspective on everything that happens in that universe.Some of the grammar and dialogue seems a bit off, and some references are somewhat outdated.But in the end it's just a story of a loveable comic dork that finds herself in the comic books she reads and gets into some crazy situations.If you've read or never read any marvel comic or seen any Marvel movie, I would absolutely recommend this book and the rest of gwenpool's original comic run.

It's funny and heartfelt and can give you emotional whiplash. She's got a refreshing style and attitude. The art is great and Gwen is so cheerful about things and ... just... you gotta read it to see.Gwenpool is only tangentially related to Deadpool, like in the conceptual phase it was "what if Gwen Stacy... was Deadpool?" but she's her own thing. Like Deadpool she knows she's in a comic, because she's from the "real" world, but unlike Deadpool she can't break the 4th wall as it were. Where Deadpool might turn to the camera (or otherwise the audience) and talk to the reader, she would just turn in some random direction and say those things because she doesn't know where the camera is. She gets a costume and becomes a "main character" because that's how you get plot armor, and figures that if she doesn't know about an alien then it was made up for her to fight. That sort of stuff.I found out after buying this that my library has it too. Heh, oh well, I love owning it. I'm gonna loan it to my friends to make them read it too.Gwenpool isn't very explicit or graphic with it's violence, but she is VERY irresponsible. I would give it a PG13 rating, and wouldn't let kids under 8 read it... but that's just me. If you have similar concerns I highly recommend you buy this and read it yourself to be your own judge (and because you'll enjoy it). And if you think you want to give your kids a better role model, I can recommend Unbeatable Squirrel Girl.

Super-héroïne déjantée -lectrice compulsive de comics-, illustrations façon manga, scénario façon comics, le tout sur un ton décalé qui ne se prend jamais trop au sérieux, et "cassant le 4ème mur". Une BD originale qui se goûte en VO de préférence.
