A bit of a letdown
I'm a fairly big fan of Dragonlance, and I have been looking for a mass battle system for running in-game wars and the like. This isn't it.To start off with, though this comes with miniature figures for the player heroes, the plastic chits that are used to model Cavalry, Ranged and Infantry troops are poor - they're abstract and too easy to misidentify. Considering Hasbro makes games like Risk, it seems like a no-brainer that they could have used actual tokens in fantasy shapes (for the Dragon Army - Skeletal Knights for Cavalry, Goblins/Hobgoblins for Ranged and Draconians for Infantry; for the Good Army - Horsed Solamnic Knights for Cavalry, Elves for Ranged and Human Infantry; maybe some special minis for other units - Dragons/Griffins for flying units, Catapults for Siege Weapons or the like). The biggest hurdle however is simply how *complex* the whole thing is. It takes quite a bit of time to read the rules, and for me comprehending them didn't occur until an actual play-through. As a game night, its passable but nothing something I would recommend starting cold - someone at the table should have at least already played a scenario or two beforehand. It is certainly not a game that as a DM you can unexpectedly drop on a group in an evening and have them playing - everyone will need to at least have run through one scenario before they can make informed play decisions. I would also strongly urge it be done separate from a normal RPG's night play, making it harder to incorporate into a campaign. Finally, if you are considering it for using in another campaign or world as your mass battle system - simply don't. While someone familiar with the game might be able to expand it beyond the included scenarios, there isn't any guidance or assistance for building additional ones - as is, it's locked to the scenarios in the game and would take a fair bit of additional work to expand it beyond what is here.

Complicated, Aesthetically Unattractive, and Not That Much Fun
It was not particularly fun. The rules are complicated yet vague on critical elements like movement. Was not immersive in the Dragonlance world

Juego que mezcla varias mecánicas
The media could not be loaded.
