Color is great, beautiful yarn

This is a lovely thick wool. The yarn is thick enough to enable a tight finish but possibly with too tight a knit for anything wearable unless the product uses a large weave. It resembles when knitted tightly a piece of corrugated cardboard. Possibly useful to use as a draft excluder, footstools and/or blankets.

I'm still learning how to knit, and I just made a warm and very soft scarf out of Hometown USA Yarn in Dallas Grey.First a warning...if you're making a large project and you need to match the dye lot, consider ordering from the manufacturer. I ordered three skeins from Amazon and they came in two different shipments with two different dye lots. The color is grey, there isn't a noticeable difference in the yarns (to me anyway) and this was a practice project. But for something important where color matching does matter...I'll head to the yarn shop. But that day is a very long way off, so Amazon it is...This yarn is loosely twisted. When I had to pull out rows, it did separate a bit. It was also easy to stick my needle into the strand of yarn or miss getting the whole loop on the needle. The yarn is also fairly thick.The Dallas Grey color is really nice.Because the yarn was so soft, it felt a bit slippery.I'm really happy with the finished scarf. It's super soft. It's toasty warm. It's really thick. An all around nice scarf.

Very nice and soft. The yarn is pretty thick.The only thing I’m upset about is while rolling the yarn into a ball… There’s a knot near the end… I did not expect a skein of yarn to be knotted

I wouldn't recommend for anything where softness is important, but for things like baskets and purses, it's a great option.

I really like this yarn. The Dallas Grey color I ordered appeared lighter than the picture (more like a silver,) but it was still a pretty color. The yarn itself was easy to work with but it really pills when you work with it. Regardless, it's still good yarn.
